OK, I'll see how many of these I actually repost here. I like Steven Crowder but think he's a bit hit or miss. This video features him channeling Joy Behar, so there are amusing moments. I smirked a lot and give this video a big two thumbs sideways.

Are MN Rep D Betty McCollum Staffers Astroturfing the Internet?

Another blogger pointed out to me that Betty McCollum may have a staffer astroturfing the internet for them!

They are posting as MN04.

On a local blog, True North, an article was written about Betty, and MN04 responded and pointed to Betty's press release on Omitting God from the Pledge of Allegiance.  This prompted the author at True North to write the following...

http://www.looktruenorth.com/elections/us-congress/14378-real-minnesota-congresswoman-of-genius.html

Then they posted on another blog; Here is the post...

MN04 Says:

Congresswoman McCollum has led the Pledge of Allegiance on the House floor several times before. Check out http://mccollum.house.gov/pledge. It’s all there.

from this blog

http://doctorbulldog.wordpress.com/2010/10/25/congresswoman-betty-mccollum-d-from-minnesota-omits-under-god-from-the-pledge-of-allegiance-on-house-floor/comment-page-1/#comment-90708

and the blog owner's response to me...

MadVoterInMN,
Just so you know, MN04 is a government shill for McCollum. The IP address is from Washington DC and the email address for MN04 ends with “@mail.house.gov”
Also, MN04 has left the same exact message on other websites:
Yup, astroturfing the internet, are we Ms. McCollum, err… I mean, MN04?
Cheers
----

So, here I sit contemplating this...Betty doesn't have her supporters defending her!  She has to resort to her staff to post on blogs?  And they are doing it from government computers?  I can't imagine this doesn't violate some ethics laws, or computer terms of use!  Is a staffer using government computers, to post on blogs, in support of a congresswoman?

I demand an investigation!!!

Keep up the work constituents of MNCD4; every bit helps.  From letters to the editor, tweets, facebook, blogs, Collett yard signs, telling your neighbors etc...spread the word on what Betty hasn't done for MNCD4.

If you are new to this blog, read how Betty McCollum denies God in Congress, supports the terrorist group Hamas and is anti-Israel.  Or just ask yourself, with the recent revelation of voter fraud in St. Paul, why would Betty McCollum deny voter fraud is a problem?  But more importantly, what has Betty done for MNCD4

Massive Voter Fraud And Disenfranchisement.

We, that is Dee and I, have been warning all our readers and friends to expect just exactly what the DeMarxists are doing. Everything from so far ‘unconfirmed’ reports of electronic machines marking votes for Reid on Republican ballots (machines serviced by SEIU) to military ballots being purposefully delayed more than once. Philadelphia Republicans have uncovered what looks like a Democrat scheme to overwhelm the county voting apparatus with fraudulent voter registrations. There was more electronic meddling with machines in Virginia.

A ‘ringer’ on the three judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, declaring herself eligible to serve as a sort of substitute for an ailing judge, Sandra Day O’Connor, lent her unfailing ultra-left vote to the panel, and Nevada got ripped off by an activist judiciary once again.

We can look for more of the same and worse. SEIU and the other public employees unions, who in another era could easily have passed for brown shirts, are out on more of their ‘public education’ operations, which usually consists of intimidating voters and fostering voter cheating.

Republicans have launched myriad attorneys and vote watchers to key districts. All of you should be extra vigilant and observant. If you see or read anything that would contravene voting law, speak up right then and there. Don’t be a bit shy about it. The bottom line is that it’s up to you and me, all of us, to see this fight through to the end. If you want to help but don’t know how, contact the Tea Party Patriots at teapartypatriots.org.

In the final analysis, it’s just exactly like Rush Limbaugh said yesterday… The way we overcome their voter hi-jinks is to overwhelm them at the ballot box and that’s just what we’re going to do.
Once again, pay zero attention to ‘them’ or their polls or their misdirection… they are lying.

Step to the Back of the Bus, Please

We are making headway. Instead of throwing  conservatives under the bus, Obama has agreed that they can ride--but only in the back. I’ll bet the next step will be to have their own separate lunch counter in the Senate dining room.  Can equal but separate rest rooms be far behind? Gotta hand it to the guy, he does have a way with words.

The Liberal Gene

Feeling a bit liberal today? It's all in your genes.

A new study sponsored by the National Science Foundation hypothesizes that liberalism might be built into DNA.
"We hypothesize that individuals with a genetic predisposition toward seeking out new experiences will tend to be more liberal, but only if they are embedded in a social context that provides them with multiple points of view," wrote lead researcher James H. Fowler -- a professor of medical genetics and political science at the University of California, San Diego. (FOXNews)
What this means is anyone's guess. Here are my thoughts:

1) Having multiple points of view plays no part in modern liberalism. The most closed-minded and intransigent people I know claim to be modern liberals. While modern liberals consider themselves to be open-minded, endemic to the system is the vehement exclusion of any beliefs they don't agree with.

1A) (corollary) While the concept of open mindedness may not apply to modern liberalism, it does indeed apply to classical liberalism - the same ideals that created the concepts of individualism, democracy, and limited government power.

2) The concept of genetic determinism is the modern liberal's panacea to excuse bad behavior. If there are genes for thinking certain ways, the conclusion is that any action that follows such thoughts cannot ever be wrong. This is an unfortunate conclusion, making humans no more responsible for any action than amoebas have.

3) On the other hand, blaming modern liberalism on genes makes a certain kind of sense. We can't blame modern liberals for their actions. They simply cannot help themselves. They just feel that way without any rational thought. We just need to ensure that they don't ever hold political power so they don't hurt themselves or others.

4) If ideology can be inherited, then modern liberals should recognize and accept that social conservatives also cannot help the way they think. Raging against social conservatives is, therefore,  a phobia, the worst kind of bigotry, that must be be weeded out of modern liberalism.

While genes may predispose us to be friendly or open-minded, the idea that genes determine certain ideologies and subsequent actions creates the huge philosophical quandary of self-will and self-determination. I choose to believe that humans are responsible for their own actions, no matter how socially damaging.

As the old Rush song puts it: "You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill. I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose freewill."

And if you disagree with me, you're probably a bigot.

Constitutional Compromise?

Follow this Blog

The Left views the Tea Party as fiscal whiners, but recent issues; bailouts, ObamaCare, federal control of private industry, collectively paying the mortgage of another, weren't just fiscal issues but questions of Constitutionality. What's Constitutional? Do we take our contract with the government literally? Or do we base it on case laws and precedents? This crystalizes the stark differences between the current Left and Right political landscape. What is a contract if the contract is subject to change at the whim of another?

As Lando Calrissian said under breath, "This deal is getting worse all the time." The Tea Party is simply praying it's not altered any further.

Caution! Bipartisanship Ahead?

Caution! Bipartisanship Ahead?
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

The GOP tsunami referenced by the media recently to describe the coming “deluge of the democrats” could easily smash itself to bits on the shoals of (what else?) bipartisanship.

Already, if you listen carefully, you can hear whispers of bipartanship in the ranks of the Mainstream Media. Sensing the coming devastation of their leftist party, the MsM is desperately trying to salvage anything they can of the Obama regime’s agenda. They hope to do that by encouraging the incoming GOP congressional members to be bipartisan in their approach to governing.

It is a recipe for disaster.

Look. I have said this time and again: If you are a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, or a member of any of the Sundry other political parties in America… “Bipartisanship” in the US Congress is the last thing you should want! Bipartisanship is akin to one party rule.

There are profound differences between conservatives and liberal-socialist democrats -- really PROFOUND. The absolute last thing I want, as a conservative, is for the congressperson I send to Washington to compromise with the liberal-socialists. It would defeat the purpose of the election, in the first place.

What we conservatives want, no, what we demand, is for the conservatives we send to Washington to roll back the agenda of Obama and the liberal-socialists. THAT is the bottom line. If the GOP cannot do it, or will not do it, then all indications are that a third political party, one driven grassroots Americans, not blue bloods, nor the country club set, but true down home Americans will explode on America’s political scene and sweep the Republican Party into the dustbin of history. This is neither a warning nor a threat from conservative America – it is a promise.

If there is a bipartisan congress after November 2nd, nothing will change. The scriptures teach us a valuable lessen about compromise. “A little leaven, leavens the whole loaf.” The same holds true for liberalism. A little liberalism will affect the entire conservative agenda. That must be avoided at all costs.

Back in February of 2008, I wrote the following: “… I take a position on things, anything, because I believe I am right. So do you. So do Republicans and Democrats and all the others. To compromise your core beliefs simply means they were not core beliefs to begin with… or… you are a weak individual and your willingness to compromise is a character flaw. The same holds true for a political party.
Where I come from compromise, by anyone, is seen as a weakness of will. A lack of will power. It is not seen as a good thing. One who refuses to compromise, and sticks to his guns, is looked up to as a strong individual, as someone to be admired. You may not like his position, but damnit; you know where he stands… at all times!
Now… what of consensus? Well, consensus, plain and simple, is lack of leadership. It means there is no single individual in the group strong enough to lead and/or guide all, or a part of, the group, to his way of thinking. Consensus is that paved road to Perdition!” I have not changed my mind.

America has had four years of a liberal-socialist democrat congress and two years of a socialist President. All one needs to know about what socialism can do to a country, any country including America is right before your eyes. In four years America has plummeted from the pinnacle to the pit. That’s what socialism does to a country, to a people. It will leach the life out of a national economy. Socialism is a terminal condition.

America cannot be saved through bipartisanship. America cannot be saved by compromising with the liberal-socialist democrats in the Congress and in the White House. There is no compromise with socialism. Like cancer, socialism must be cut out and destroyed or it will, inevitably, kill its host.

America is in deep peril at this moment in history. With federal courts setting the stage to allow non-citizens to vote in the 2012 election, it is imperative that we have a conservative Congress to curb the power grabs of the democrats. The new Congress must act quickly, deliberately, and with single-mindedness to wrench control away from those who would transform this country into another third world socialist dung heap. Make no mistake about it. That is exactly where the democrats are taking this once great, this once proud, exceptional country.

There is so much to be done, including the repeal of Obamacare, the abolition of the Ninth Circuit Court, stopping Cap and Trade, defunding the EPA, stopping the profligate spending and reducing the size of the federal government… and all this is just scratching the surface.

America, we have much to do to save our country. We begin Tuesday by voting for conservatives. I can hardly wait for 6:30 AM next Tuesday. I intend to be the first, or among the first, to cast a ballot in my precinct. I have talked the talk. Now, it is time for me to walk the walk and exercise the power of the vote. I intend to do just that.

An Open Letter to the St. Paul Pioneer Press to Endorse Teresa Collett

Tonight I received the letter below from @StPaulCD4Voter, which has been submitted to the St. Paul Pioneer Press as a Letter to the Editor.

To Thom Fladung -- Editor of the St. Paul Pioneer Press

Dear Mr. Fladung;

Over the last week its been probably the most interesting race in the 4th Congressional District in over 20 years.  Unfortunately most of the voters of St. Paul would never know it if they relied solely on your paper to get their information.  Luckily the "new media" has done your job for you this campaign, and really shown why the print media is dying in this country.  Let me bring you up to speed.

First there has been a lot of debate about debates.  It started when Rep. Betty McCollum initially did not respond to Republican Teresa Collett's primary night challenge to hold 4 debates.  Collett actually hand delivered a letter to Betty McCollum's office the morning after her primary victory to challenge McCollum face to face.  Betty wasn't there, and apparently neither was the Pioneer Press because no story on Teresa's debate challenge ever appeared in the "newspaper of record" for St. Paul.

Finally, after much goading by local bloggers McCollum agreed to appear in a televised debate on KSTP TV, only to back out at the last minute. You would think the refusal of a sitting Congresswoman to appear on television to debate her Republican opponent would be big news, especially given the current political environment and the issues facing our country.  But, sadly there was no reporting of this slap in the face to the voters of St. Paul by their elected representative in the Pioneer Press.

Rep McCollum ultimately agreed to appear in two live candidate forums, and one radio forum on MPR.  The first forum in front of the White Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce, wasn't open to the public.  At this debate Rep McCollum proclaimed that she "supports Nancy Pelosi 100% and would vote to reelect her as Speaker."   She also called Speaker Pelosi "a consensus builder" despite the fact that she led a unilateral effort on the part of the Democratic Party to pass the hugely unpopular stimulus, cash for clunkers, and health care reform -- that has spawned the voter anger that is driving what could be an historic wave election in just a few days.  The story that appeared in the Pioneer Press reporting on this debate has actually been taken down off your website!  You would think this story would stay up at least until after the election as a service to your readers who are trying to educate themselves on the issues.

Last week at the Wilder Foundation, Rep McCollum and Teresa Collett again met face to face in front of a live public audience.  Anyone who was there would agree that Collett clearly won the debate.  She articulately laid out the case for limited government, tax cuts and spending reductions in order to get the economy back on track. The overwhelming consensus from anyone in the room was that Collett came off polished, aware, and in command of the issues.  If someone from outside the district had attended the debate, they would have thought Collett actually was the incumbent.   Rep McCollum on the other hand, made bizzare statements like:

"Health care reform is not a government takeover"
"The budget is just a piece of paper..its totally non binding"
"AlQaeda is no longer a threat to the United States"

During this debate, many of  McCollum's answers drew scorn if not outright laughter from the audience.  She showed a remarkable inability to speak without prepared notes, and really didn't seem that well prepared. This story deserved front page news, as it was in front of a packed audience of actual voters attending a Congressional election in a highly contentious national election.  Instead St. Paul voters received a bland article, buried in the paper that failed to capture the spirit of the debate or the atmosphere in the room.

Finally the events of the last 72 hours have failed to even make the paper at all.  In case you weren't aware the Congresswoman from St. Paul has become a viral sensation on the Internet.  A video of her leading Congress in the Pledge of Allegiance, and clearly omitting the words "Under God" is now all over the Internet.  The video was featured on the Hannity television show on Monday night and on Glenn Beck's national radio show on Tuesday morning.  It is newsworthy because it surfaced at the same time another video of a League of Women Voters debate where the audience demanded that the debate open with the Pledge despite the resistance of the LWV moderator made national news and also went viral.

Today another video of Rep McCollum saying that "Al Qaeda no longer is a threat to the US" appeared on the front page of the National Review, Foxnation.comHotair.com, and The Blaze on the same day that a suspect with Al Qaeda connections was arrested in Washington DC, casing possible bombing sites. (I'm hopeful to see a reporting of this in tomorrow's paper, but I'm not holding my breath!)  McCollum's statement flies in the face of testimony by Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano and FBI Director Robert Mueller before Congress last month.  This statement by McCollum is shocking coming from a sitting Congresswoman, for either she released classified information in the debate at the Wilder Center or she revealed a fundamental lack of understanding of the threats facing our country!

This is an important election.  The St. Paul Pioneer Press has failed the voters of St. Paul in its duty to report on the public debate and the events surrounding this campaign.  This campaign has clearly shown to those who care to inform themselves which candidate is most qualified to represent the 4th District.  Teresa Collett is a former small business owner, an appellate attorney who has tried cases before the Supreme Court, testified before Congress, and is a constitutional law professor at St. Thomas.  Betty McCollum has a remarkably undistinguished career in Congress, passing only one bill into law -- renaming a post office!  McCollum has been a 100% reliable vote for Nancy Pelosi and the extreme left wing of the Democratic Party her entire career. When Pelosi's approval rate is less than 30%, McCollum's support for her shows that she represents the values of San Francisco, not St. Paul.

In order to maintain any credibility I am calling upon you today to endorse Teresa Collett for Congress. Collett represents the opinion of the majority of the country who are afraid about the growth of government, the growing tax burden on the job creators in this country and the debt the Democrats have levied on our children and grandchildren.  McCollum is the poster child for everything that is being rejected by voters across the country!

In order to save your reputation as the clear thinking paper in town -- please endorseTeresa Collett!

Sincerely,

@StPaulCD4Voter

Why is 10 year Incumbent Betty McCollum Smiling?

Betty McCollum has been in Congress for 10 years; this video is from Betty's 8th year.  So why is Betty smiling...well, this day is a big day for the intellectual flyweight from St. Paul.  After 8 years in Congress, and lots of hard work; I mean lots of hardwork, like waking up, breathing etc.  Yes, this hardwork pays off, and Betty McCollum passes her first bill!  Yes, her first and ONLY BILL in her 10 years in office that is enacted by the President! (for Betty devotee's, a bill can be passed in the House, but means nothing till the President enacts it (signs into law)).

Bill Sandberg sounds like a helluva guy, he was a veteran!  Cheers Bill!

Congratulations Betty!  Have a drink on me!

You can check here at Govtrack; select the Congress, Betty McCollum and make sure Signed By the President is selected.

So Betty, 10 years, and 1 bill passed...OTHER THAN VOTING TO SPEND OUR MONEY, what have you been doing?

The left thinks Americans are stupid

by Crystal Kelley, Friendly Neighborhood Republican

For those of you who have been wearing earplugs and bags over your heads for the past few weeks, this is what has happened. The nutshell version is that Bill O'Reilly went on The View, which caused Juan Williams to be fired by NPR. Seems kind of stupid when you put it that way, doesn't it?

Well, it is stupid. Actually "stupid" is the proper word to use as an explanation for the why discourse in our country has become stilted, thanks to the Church of Political Correctness (CPC).

Bill O'Reilly was a guest on The View and said he was against the proposed mosque being built so close to the ground zero site because Muslims killed us on 9/11. Whoppie Goldberg and Joy Behar, after yelling and swearing at their guest, got up and walked out of the interview. What made them so angry?

In statements they've made since the incident, both Behar and Goldberg have said they essentially couldn't just sit there while O'Reilly was painting all Muslims with the same brush. Goldberg continues to assert if all Muslims killed us on 9/11, does that mean Mohamed Ali killed us on 9/11? Of course the answer to that is "no."

So the remedy for O'Reilly's "mistake" was to clarify his statement with one word: "extremists." If he had used that one little word, the whole circus would not have come to town.

I like words. Words are of the utmost importance in my life. I think words have incredible power, and I guess that's why I love them so much. It's important to use the correct word in the correct situation. One of my favorite quotes is by Mark Twain. He said, "The difference between the right word and almost the right word is the difference between lightning and lightning bug."

In the case of O'Reilly's statement, the use of the qualifier "extremist" would have been enough to assuage the CPC in Goldberg and Behar. Okay. But I agree with O'Reilly's statement that people know what he meant. When he said, "Muslims killed us on 9/11," he didn't mean every Muslim in the world was involved in the plot to kill us on 9/11, and he thinks America understood that. I believe that's true. Why?

Because I don't think Americans are stupid. I don't think they are such useless morons they couldn't have made the distinction that O'Reilly's statement wasn't meant to include every Muslim on the planet. I believe they are smart enough not to need the qualifier "extremist" to know what O'Reilly meant.

Goldberg's argument (a ham-handed attempt to prove O'Reilly's statement to be wrong) that American terrorist Timothy McVey wasn't a Muslim and nobody runs around saying Christians bombed Oklahoma City is irrelevant to the argument because McVey didn't commit his terroristic attack because of his religious beliefs. For him, it was all about politics. Goldberg's argument is like comparing apples and bicycles.

There are some things that are just true, even if we don't want them to be. And one of those truths is that not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists since 9/11 have been Muslim. It's just true. I'm sorry about that, but it is. But we have become so beholden to the CPC that we can't speak the truth, or act on the truth, at least without fear. That's why 85-year-old Norweigan grandmothers are searched before boarding planes. And that's an example of how far the PC movement reaches. It reaches into our safety and scrambles it up.

I don't want to be hypocritical here. It so often happens that when liberals get caught saying something stupid in public, and the public reacts, they clutch their collective pearls and gasp in surprise and horror that someone would actually take action against a famous person because of something that person said. Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks, Bruce Springsteen and Sean Penn spring to mind. Maines was shocked and outraged people would burn her CD's and stop buying them after she made a derogatory remark about President Bush. Springsteen saw his concert ticket sales plummet after he made several similar remarks during the 2004 election season. And I, and many other conservatives, will never pay to see a Sean Penn film because we don't want to line his pockets with more money so he can continue his traitorous activities, such as visiting Saddam Hussein weeks prior to the start of the Iraq war.

These celebrities and their fans think it's simply wrong to punish these people with boycotts, etc., for what they say in public. They scream and yell things like, "What happened to free speech?" "This is America. Don't we still have the right to free speech?" What I have always said about these situations is, yes, you still have the Constitutional right to free speech, but what you don't have is protection from any reactions to that speech as long as those reactions aren't from the government and don't involve things like imprisonment. You can talk all you want, but people are allowed to judge you--it's as simple as that.

So I am not saying the left has no right to react to O'Reilly's statement on The View and Juan Williams' subsequent comment about his own private thoughts. They have every right. What I'm saying is that the basis of their reactions is stupid. It stems from left-wing elitists who see themselves as opinion leaders because they are above the mere rabble who might be too stupid to see the nuances in language without everything being spelled out for them.

This argument isn't really about outrage about O'Reilly's statements. It isn't about outrage about Juan Williams' statements. It's really about elitism. The CPC is an elitist group that thinks America's little people can't understand a person's intent without things being absolutely perfectly worded. They understand words have power. Look how far president Obama has gone to erase the word "terrorist" from the American vernacular.

In my opinion, the "progressives" have come full circle. The political correctness religion practiced by most of them has made them the most bigoted, intolerant, narrow-minded group in America. There. I said it.

What began with (I have to try to believe) an honest attempt to stop using speech that was hurtful to individuals or groups has turned into an ugly monster that attempts to devour our right to free speech, stomps on our freedom of expression, and at times, strangles true intellectual discourse.

There was so much good that came out of the PC movement before it became a religion. It stopped people from using the "N-word" to the point where most white people wouldn't be caught dead saying it, and they truly think it's wrong to use that word. That's great. Because it is wrong.

All of the other racial slurs are wrong too. I don't believe in using the kinds of words that hurt people and that are meant to take the targets of the words down and lessen them as human beings. So I do admit the genesis of the PC religion had good intentions and some good results. I'm glad I live in a society in which it's considered socially unacceptable to use racial slurs or, for that matter, to degrade women. A society can only consider itself better if it is in that state of grace.

But, like most ideas the left get a hold of, they took it too far. Like free and reduced price lunches. Great idea. We don't want American school children going hungry. Yay. But then it was free breakfast for every student, regardless of need, free before and after-school programs for children regardless of need, and the pesky habit of teachers and school administrators to think and act as if students are being parented by a bunch of imbeciles who must be shoved aside so schools can raise the children instead, rendering parental choice to secondary status. They just simply go too far.

In an effort to appear tolerant of groups like Muslims(and I truly believe a lot of it is about appearance, like when people said you should vote for Obama because he would change America's image because he's young, black, handsome and captivating), they collectively stomp on Christians. In schools, children learn all about Muslim holidays, Kwanza, etc., but it's not okay to talk about Christmas. The left just can't find balance. It's in their nature to take things to a point of ridiculousness.

Now, in PC land, people aren't allowed to say what they mean without being blasted by the left. If you say something with which they don't agree, or it's outside the boundaries they have set for all of us, you are toast. They are creating a society in which one must speak as they are told or suffer grave consequences. If you don't agree with them, you are labeled. If you speak the truth, you will be labeled. If you think outside the box, you will be punished.

So what started as a movement to stop racial, religious and sexual slurs quickly transformed into the word police. And if you really think about it, I mean really think, you'll discover, as I have, that the reason for most of politically correct speech is because the elitists on the left think the average American is too stupid to sort out an argument unless it is Dick and Jane'd to them.

Now, another "word" moment has happened on The View. Yesterday Joy Behar, in rare form, called congressional candidate Sharron Angle a "bitch" and said she is "going to hell." This is a pretty straighforward statement requiring no additions or translations by the PC Police for the average American to understand it.

But let's see what happens next in this soap opera of words. Juan Williams was fired from his job at NPR because he talked about his own fear of seeing people in Muslim garb at airports. He used no racial slurs and no hate speech, but he was fired immediately.

If I want to skip down the yellow brick road of political correctness, I would label Behar's outburst yesterday as hate speech. I believe that, all things being equal, she should be fired immediately.

Should I hold my breath? I'm told I look good in blue. In the meantime, I guess we all need to tune in tomorrow for another episode of As the Word Turns.

A Rosa By Any Other Name

Speaking before a $7500-per-plate dinner to raise funds to help fight the "Evil Rich Unless They're Liberals Like You," Barack Obama announced that in his vision of America, Republicans can "come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back."

Nice.

For people of a certain age, that kind of language brings back memories of a time when racial segregation was an ugly fact of life in the United States...followed by tremendous strife and civil unrest as Americans (many of them Republican) fought to put an
end to such practices - not simply to turn the tables on who would be discriminated against.

Of course, the president isn't quite old enough to have
first-hand knowledge of this unhappy time in American history, he has no Black American ancestors, and the subject probably wasn't included in his school curriculum in Indonesia...so he may not have been aware how offensive his remark was.

We trust that he won't make the same mistake in the future. And that he'll
also ask the Black Panthers not to bring ax handles to the polling places next Tuesday.

"This sure tastes irony."

Why The Divisive Democrats Must Go.

This will be my last article before the mid-term elections, only six days away now. Skip and I have swapped days due to our work commitments and he will be writing Saturday’s article. While mentioning ‘the great eagle of the blogosphere’, he has stated that these elections could possibly be the most important… ever. I concur with this viewpoint and recent campaign events have further underlined this fact.

The 111th Congress has been one of the most unpopular, if not the most despised, in history. A recent Harris poll gives them an approval rating of 11%, hardly a good position for incumbents at election time. Their public approval has followed a consistent downward path, accentuated every time they instigate or enact some measure that is both intrinsically alien and unacceptable to the majority of the populace.

Eighty per cent of Americans identify as conservative or centrist. It’s not surprising that the attempts of the President and Congress to impose heavy-duty government control and regulation, à la European Union, is not well-received. This is not the EU, where the public has been molded to accept the nanny-state attitude where ‘government knows what’s best for you’.

The attempts to create a socialism-based country in the face of overwhelming opposition by the people serves to prove one undeniable fact. Obama and his followers (not to mention his Marxist mentors) are only concerned with the fruition of their ideologies. To them, the collapse of the American economy, increased unemployment and the removal of individual freedoms are a small price to pay for the realization of their dreams.

The reaction by Obama, a result of mounting pressure on the Democrats in the closing days of the campaign, are reinforcing this theory in the most hideous of ways. Historically, one of the strategies of all dictatorships is purposeful divisiveness… the promise of reward (often not fulfilled) to supporters and the demonization of opponents.

Obama has never accepted any responsibility for failure. From day one he blamed the legacy of George Bush and the effects of the last Republican-controlled Congress, a whole four years ago. After the lampooning of opposition politicians he shifted his focus to conservative media. His fixation with Fox News could only be described as an obsession… not a good thing for a supposed national leader.

By the time of the mid-term elections, he has a hit-list of ‘enemies of the state’… Republicans, Conservatives, the Tea Parties, all conservative media, man-made global warming skeptics (especially if they are highly qualified on the subject), anyone who attempts to uphold immigration laws… well, need I go on further? Not only are these folks mentioned in his auto-cued ramblings, they are usually the targets of the obligatory false accusations, name-calling and, as in the case of Arizona, legal action.

This week, Obama made an astounding comment to Latinos, urging them to, quote, “punish our enemies”. He was, of course, referring to every person who does not vote Democrat. With his continued alienation of Americans, Obama and company are left with the support of socialists, a large percentage of the black electorate (perhaps less after the NPR incident) and a smaller than anticipated number of Hispanic voters. He can take solace in the fact that he may have the support of many dead voters and illegal aliens, plus some hinky electoral procedures!

A president who regards the majority of his people as enemies, while avoiding the use of the word to describe those that would see the destruction of the United States of America, can not be allowed to continue in office. Yes, this probably is the most important election of modern times. We must re-take Congress next week, en route to replacing Obama with a president who puts the American people first, above all else.
We are not going to “sit in the back”. From next week, we will be in the driver’s seat!

They are evil

On some level, most of us feel like we are being screwed. It's not true of course, but this feeling serves a very important psychological purpose: self delusion. Our ego cannot allow us to feel inferior, so instead of looking within ourselves, we look outward for scapegoats and bogeymen to blame. We think our boss exploits us, that mega-companies charge too much, and that luck is not on our side.

I think most of us intuitively know we are not being shafted left and right. You go to class and see the smart kid in the room. You see her talent and you know she’s special. Every day she works her butt off and eventually it pays off. And even the most cynical among us can’t help but admit, she's earned everything she's got.

Nonetheless, the need for bogeymen persists, and we don't personally know every smart girl in the room. To assuage our egos, we simmer illicit stories of how she became rich. What wrongs she must have committed to rise above us, or how it was just plain luck.

Politics essentially divides itself along two lines. The first takes as its premise that what people have, they earned. The second believes that what you have is not earned, or at least not earned rightly.

Liberalism, the politics of entitlement, is manna to your ego. When you see successful people, liberalism sells the idea that you have been shafted; that they don't deserve their success; that if you give liberals power, they will get you what you are entitled. It's a dangerous philosophy as it pits man against man, and feeds on our innate animal desires.

This is not an extreme view of liberalism. At its heart, it is based on the presumption that your fellow man profits at your expense and this causes conflict by definition.

It's the frailty of our ego that wants to transform smart, successful women into our personal scapegoats. It's the tragedy of liberalism to encourage it.

Did Betty McCollum Release Classified Information During 21 Oct 2010 Debate?

Betty adamantly claims Al Qaeda no longer poses a threat to the United States!  As you will see in the video, this information directly contradicts the testimony of Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, and Robert Mueller, FBI Director and Michael Leiter, Director of US National Counter Terrorism Center.

The question is, did Betty release classified information...

Or is Betty just dense...

I will go with the latter...there is no way the government would entrust with her matters of national security.  Heck, Betty couldn't even get a budget done (and you saw how important she feels a budget is), and she is on the budget committee!

Remember, if you see me, please honk!
