Obama: One More Ride On The Apology Train

Obama Expresses "Deep Regret" For Guatemalan STD Experiments In 1940s - The Oval: Tracking The Obama Presidency.

U.S. Apologizes for Syphilis Experiment in Guatemala

"The NIH-funded experiment, which ran from 1946 to 1948, was uncovered by a Wellesley College medical historian. It apparently was conducted to test if penicillin, then relatively new, could prevent some sexually transmitted infections. The study came up with no useful information and was hidden for decades."

"Although these events occurred more than 64 years ago, we are outraged that such reprehensible research could have occurred under the guise of public health," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said.

Of course it was reprehensible...but it happened 64 years ago! Has this president secretly appointed an Apology Czar? Is some bespectacled leftist with a pink eyeshade even now combing through yellowing documents of state searching after items for which Obama can publicly repent? Let's see:

The Guatemalan travesty was discovered by Susan Reverby, a professor of Women's Studies at Wellesley College. From her Wellesley bio (Emphasis mine):

  • Susan M. Reverby received her BS degree from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations with a focus on labor and economic history. Her M.A. is from New York University and her Ph.D. from Boston University in American Studies. She has worked as a community organizer in New York and as a women's health activist. She was a member of the Legacy Committee on the Tuskegee Syphilis Study that successfully lobbied President Bill Clinton to offer a public apology to the surviving men and their heirs in l997. She has been a fellow at the Bunting/Radcliffe Institute and the W.E.B. DuBois Institute at Harvard twice each.

Hmmm. The Director of the DuBois Institute is Henry Louis Gates, whose arrest in June of 2009 promped the Leader's impolitic "police acted stupidly" remark. So we have Professor Reverby, an activist, a community organizer (like Obama), an academic, who belongs to an academic society (chaired by an Obama crony) uncovering 64-year old research, which the Obama administration immediately hands to the media and for which it abjectly and publicly apologizes, thereby denigrating pre-Obama America while implicitly praising the current management. Very neatly done, by a suspiciously incestuous circle of progressives.

I hate hate speech!

It’s the height of the political ‘silly season’ as our supreme leader has announced. Silly in this case meaning any discourse that dares disagree with his policies. To boot is the silly season of political rallies and fundraisers that try to appeal to each specific demographic. My generation started the fire with MTV’s ‘Rock the Vote’ which was a thinly veiled version of ACORN with a better soundtrack. The effort was to use the celebrity of rockers from all musical genres but with one common goal, getting a democrat in office.

Fast forward to Barack Obama, who when needed, proclaims himself the first black President. Along with finally breaking the color-coated glass ceiling comes the luxury of getting to pick the music on the First iPod as well as attending whatever acts grace the stages of the get-out-the-vote efforts of his day. This presidential luxury has led to bringing in the star power of hip-hop’s latest one hit wonder, The B.o.B. I know, I know, you’re saying WHO?? and feeling older by the second for not keeping up with the times. Nonetheless, the B.o.B. has quite a set of lyrics that run the gamut from toe-tapping to downright offensive to people of all colors. That apparently didn’t dissuade President Obama from not only attending but speaking at the event.

Interestingly, at the DNC event, President Obama likened the need for patience to wait for his change to save us all to the wait for slavery to be abolished. This at an event where the musical headliner readily drops the word most associated with the pain caused by slavery. We are talking about the ‘n-word’, could there be any other?

Make no doubt about it the ‘n-word’ is very offensive, as is any word that is narrowed down to just one letter. The first one I learned was the dreaded ‘f-word’. Of course since then I've learned about going through the big D, divorce. I've filed the big B to wipe away my debts, but nothing carries quite the same weight as the ‘N-word’. I understand the offensive nature of the word and the painful history that comes with it, which is why I don't understand why it's ever acceptable and why the very group that was denigrated by it chooses to make it a term of endearment. Even worse is how people on the ‘d-side’ of the electoral aisle can pick and choose what constitutes hate according to their political needs. Regardless of color or politics one would think that’s something we could all get behind, let’s hate hate speech!

We have to have to understand that words have meaning for all people or we need to be totally insensitive to words, which the PC police would never allow. Either way we need to make sure that crimes of offensive speech have the same punishment. (See also Harry Reid)

And while we’re at it, could we please return a little class to the office of the President? I get it, you’re younger and hipper than other Presidents but could you maybe have that massive staff we’re paying for flip through the discology of the people with you on stage for filth? It’s a bunch of B.S. that you didn’t know…

America Does A Big Gutcheck

… and didn’t like what it found. Conservative writers, myself included, are enamored with the emerging Conservative majority in the country. We observe closely, in awe of seeing a free people exercising their fundamental right to remove from office those they have strongly come to oppose. We are truly witnessing a shift in the fabric of American politics.

Rick Santelli

Rick Santelli of CNBC financial news is the one who is credited with the term Tea Party, but if you check on the net you’ll find about ten pages of folks who claim to have invented it. That’s part of the mystique of the Conservative Patriot Movement.

The Patriot groups have literally sprung up all over the country. That’s one of the things that is just driving the DeMarxists nuts about the Tea Party groups. They just can’t visualize the Patriot Movement. It doesn’t equate… there’s no national movement or leadership. It’s entirely independent from any political party or organization. Leftists just can’t register that one… a popular movement they couldn’t match even in their wildest dreams… and one which has grown with logarithmic abandon.

America took one long look at the socialist assault on our country and made a conscious decision to stop it. As the election rapidly approaches, more DeMarxist weaknesses and vulnerabilities become apparent. Some prognosticators are saying that as many as 100 seats could change hands in the House alone. The Senate looks more vulnerable every day, also.

There are going to be a lot of Tea Parties in the run up to the elections. Get online and find your local group and get out there and support them. Talk to your friends and neighbors about America, the Constitution and Freedom.

The Wily Rats Are Leaving The Great Ship Obama

In the days of tall sails and wooden ships, rats took up residence in the bowls of the ship, nesting in the hold and living on scraps left by the sailors. Down close to the keel, they would be the first to know that sea water was flooding in faster than the bilge pumps could handle, and like the smart little furry animals they are, began to look for dryer places. As they raced up to the higher decks, they were  chased by the sailors until they plunged off the side. Later, when the ship finally sank, the sailors remembered the scurrying rats and thus was born the phrase, “Like rats deserting a sinking ship.” At least that is one version of the origins of the idiom.

The Great Ship Obama appears to be taking on water faster than it can be pumped out. Thus, the wily rats are leaving before it goes completely under. Rahm Emanuel leaves today to run for the most corrupt leadership role in America--the Mayor of Chicago.  Peter Orszog, Christina Romer, and Lawrence Summers, all key architects of the Obama economic policy, have fled from the coming disaster. Robert Gates, the Secretary of Defense, won’t be far behind.  Democrat congressmen are running as far away from the Great Ship Obama as fast as they can. (“Not me, I was against that damned Health Care bill all along. Nancy made me do it.”) I hope that like all good Captains and First Mates, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will go down with the ship this coming November.

The rats know something.

Hillary must be inwardly smiling.

The Hail Mary

Atheists claim hope is a kind of schizophrenia or mental illness. Belief in God is an abandonment of reason they say. And it's true. Faith is not reasonable. It is an illogical belief in the impossible. An oddity that separates man from animal.

We hold ourselves to such high standards that we cannot possibly hold true to them. But, it's that illogical reaching for the impossible that drives us. It's what dreams are made of. How we play the last 10 seconds of a seemingly hopeless game is what defines us. Do we run away? Do we go through the motions, wondering how illogically silly the attempt is? Or do we believe something truly amazing can happen, with a little faith? If you can believe in Him, all things become possible.

With separation of church and state, government cannot favor one religion over another. But Theism is not a specific belief, not specifically Christian, Judaism or Muslim, but rather a general belief in the Creator, God. Our Founding Fathers knew our rights came from God and that faith, along with facts are necessary for mankind's and our country's survival. Why then would the Left push Atheism and the complete absence of any notion of God in public life? For power. Faith gives us each individual freedom and power to pursue our interests not the specific interests of the collective. Faith gives us that "umph" to complete the task. There's a reason socialistic and communist societies removed God as it competed with the one true power, the government and collective thought.

The GOP’s Choice For President

The GOP’s Choice For President
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

There are those who will say NOW is not the time to expend mental energy on ciphering the inner workings of the GOP and the machinations they go through to choose a presidential candidate. Those who say that may very well be correct, but here we go, anyway.

If I could make one suggestion to the GOP candidate selection corp – it would be that they not present their base with the same tired old candidates they continue to run out each h election cycle.

Oh, and allow me to mention something they may have missed. Sarah Palin, for all her likeability within the conservative branch of the Republican Party, will not be an acceptable choice to carry the GOP banner into the 2012 election for President of the US.

Don’t misunderstand. I LIKE Ms. Palin. In my opinion, she is a powerful engine within the conservatives of the GOP. She can gather a crowd, create a tidal wave of energy within the ranks of the party, and her skill at raising money is akin to that of a money machine. Her support can push a little known candidate across the finish line to victory, as we have seen a number of times already. But she cannot win a race for President against Obama.

That needed saying, as the expression as it, so I said it.

In the first place I think the upper echelon of the Republican Party had rather ingest cyanide than support Ms. Palin as their candidate for President. Left to their own devices I am convinced they would, as they did in 2008, discard the conservative wing of their party and place their support behind a liberal or a RINO candidate with the belief that they can win the 2012 Presidential Election with the support of only liberal and moderate republicans, plus the independent voters. That move was doomed to failure, right from the start, in the 2008 election cycle and it has even less chance of ending in victory in the 2012 election cycle.

I have voted a conservative ballot since my first election at the tender age of 21. I will do the same this next month and again in November of 2012. Like all conservatives my votes always reflect my core beliefs. Conservatives are like that. We will not compromise our beliefs to vote for a GOP candidate who does not share those beliefs just so the Republican Party can claim a victory. Such a victory often turns out to be pyrric, anyway.

There is some evidence that the “higher-ups” in the GOP are beginning to understand this fact. I hope so, for, indeed, the survival of the Republican Party, as a political force in America, literally hangs on their understanding that and accepting that and embracing conservative republicans.

The Republican Party must recognize that Conservatives have the power now to create that viable “third Party” which, I am convinced would quickly move the GOP into third party status and itself into direct contention with the Democratic Party to become the controlling political party in the US. The truth is the Tea Party Movement in America has accomplished that for conservatives.

In one month America’s electorate will go to the polls to decide whether America remain a constitutional republic or is dragged into the slavery of a socialist state akin to the pathetic European socialist entities sometimes referred to as “states.” The conservative movement in America is going head-to-head with the liberal socialists in America to stop that from happening. Conservatives understand, better than anyone, it seems, that socialism is assured death for the American way of life. They give all indications they are determined to concentrate their considerable power on preserving the country and the political system our forefathers labored so hard to obtain and to guarantee for us.

The GOP MUST understand conservatives will settle for nothing less than a genuine conservative candidate for President of the US in 2012. This is not negotiable, period.

Before the GOP makes a mistake they will rue to their dying day, allow me to state as clearly as I know how the following: Conservatives are not so desirous of being rid of the Obama Regime that they (conservatives) will vote for practically anyone the GOP decides to push forward as the party’s choice for President. I assure you that is NOT the case. In fact, it is a sure and certain way to return the Obama Regime to power for another four years.

The bottom line is this: If the GOP decides to ignore the conservative branch of their party this time around, then I expect conservatives will accept the GOP rejection of their values and move on to form their own political party, separate from the Republicans, into which they can pour their considerable political clout, their energy, and their collective talents in an effort to build a better America.
