Mainstream Media Publishes Another GM Press Release As ‘News’ – Government Motors Claims ‘Chocolate Rations’ Are Up

After GM's $50 billion dollar bailout, plus GM's $9 billion IPO loss 4 months ago, plus the Feds purchasing 1-in-every-4 GM hybrids sold, plus bankrupt GM distributing manager bonuses up to 50% of their salaries, plus Motor Trend naming the government-subsidized Chevy Volt as ‘Car of the Year’ without a single Volt ever being sold, Government Motors spun another press release today citing 'GM's February auto sales are up'.

Miraculously, within hours, as if the Associated Press had anticipated GM's announcement, AP tailored their version of GM's propaganda, then issued the directive to its worldwide members - aka mainstream media. Minutes later, millions of people were feeding from the MSM trough on 'news' of GM's 'success'.

Every headline from the following MSM outlets reads in boldface type, 'GM Leads Auto Sales', or something to that effect:

Forbes, MarketWatch, NBC-AP, Yahoo, CNN, USA Today, LA Times, MSNBC, BloombergSalon, CNBCDaily Finance, Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune, ABC News, Reuters, Times Union, Boston Globe, FOX BusinessFOX, Washington Times, Daily Caller, Auto News, NY Times, Barron's, Star Tribune, SF Gate, Times Dispatch, Wall Street Journal, Comcast, Charlotte Observer, Business Insider, NPR, [...]

And the regurgitated AP lead-ins read,

'General Motors Co. led automakers with a 49 percent U.S. sales jump last month.'

How does a bankrupt, bailed-out company run by a government that's $14+ trillion in debt motivate people to purchase GM vehicles? Through more debt - disguised as 'incentives' - of course:

'But the sales gains, especially for GM, were juiced by sweeter financing and lease deals. While analysts weren't ready to declare a price war — and GM denied starting one — they noted an increase in the deals customers were offered.'

And get this, GM spent nearly $4,000 per vehicle, IN FEBRUARY, on incentives alone:

'GM spent $3,849 a vehicle on incentives in February, up from $3,518 a year earlier, according to researcher Edmunds.com. The overall industry lowered incentives by 3.7 percent to $2,558, according to Edmunds estimates.'

This is clearly incentive-driven,” Jeremy Anwyl, chief executive officer of Santa Monica, California-based Edmunds, said of GM’s results in a telephone interview. “The rest of the industry is not really responding yet. Nobody is really matching GM.”

Of course not. How could anyone match a government-run company that receives $ multi-billion cash infusions upon request?

Atlas Shrugged synopsis from Wiki:

'In their efforts, these "men of the mind" hope to demonstrate that a world in which the individual is not free to create is doomed, that civilization cannot exist where men are slaves to society and government, and that the destruction of the profit motive leads to the collapse of society.'

The Associated Press conspiracy: HERE

ABC News reporter fired for telling the truth: HERE

Even Obama Doesn’t Believe in Obamacare

On Monday President Obama finally admitted that Obamacare is not the right answer to the healthcare problem. Nancy and Harry must be fuming after the political capital (including Nancy’s position) that was spent to put that magnanimous piece of garbage through Congress.
Obama held a call with state Governors in an effort to calm the waters.. or something. His push to socialize America’s health care sector has put him in a precarious position and now.. he has to get re-elected.
Hosting governors of both parties on his own turf, Obama offered them what they often request: more flexibility as they cope with painful budget dilemmas. Declaring that he would “go to bat for whatever works,” Obama supported letting states propose their own health care plans by 2014 — three years faster than the current law allows. [1]
A constitutionalist’s concern would be that the executive branch even thinks that it has the ability to “go to bat for whatever works” despite the provision already signed into law. Secondly, what kind of leader [read more]

Canadian’s Keep Ban on “False News” – MSNBC Loses Last Hope

Last week, the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission (CTRC) killed a decade old inquiry into whether the long-time ban against false or misleading news should stand.
Despite a misleading (a.k.a. false?) publication on HuffPo, The original request to review the policy came from a parliamentary committee more than ten years ago, not the current Conservative Prime Minister.
Indeed, the broadcast regulator now says it never wanted the regulatory change in the first place and was only responding to orders from a parliamentary committee.[1]
I’m not Canadian so if they want to have government-approved drivel.. [read more]

Commies And Queers

If you are talking to a communist sympathizer or a queer, you can bet that you are conversing with a liberal democratic. What happened to the Democratic Party?

I can’t see JFK supporting this!

A Radical Difference

Most of us say we support freedom and democracy all over the world. But, what do you mean when you say it? None of us wants any nation to live under a dictatorship, so free citizens of the world have been moved to ponder how the explosive protests in the Mid-East this past month relate to our way of life.

Some, like Amy Goodman of the TV show, Democracy Now! (broadcast on PBS), think these were popular movements, similar to the American Revolution. The uprisings were perceived by Ms. Goodman as 'power to the people' moments on C-SPAN recently. "It's very important that we support pro-democracy activism everywhere, whether we're talking about Manamah in Bahrain, or whether we're talking about Madison, Wisconsin," she said. I admit I don't know enough about these Middle-Eastern countries to agree or disagree with Ms. Goodman's comparison. We'll have to wait and see if these were workers throwing off the chains of their masters - or if their revolts were inspired by extremists, prepared for even more ruthless dictators to rule.

Are the protesters and their Democratic Party state representatives in Wisconsin supporting democracy, or only their own selfish interests and ideology? How have their actions helped the 'little guy,' when attainment of their goals will bankrupt their state and higher taxes to support state workers will hurt most of the other Wisconsinites? Has the left adopted brutal union tactics in the place of honest debate and a vote? It's important we raise questions and not accept what most of the mainstream media talking heads might say. Amy Goodman said, "...there is nothing that will guarantee our national security more than if we side with freedom; we side with those who believe in democracy - who are trying to throw off the yoke of these despots." Yes, we want all people to be free, but do we want to blindly support reckless revolutions with the chance that ruthless dictators will take over, or do we want a more thoughtful change to take place? I vote for 'thoughtful.'

Amy Goodman spoke of an independent media, one free of government oppression. Good for her! But, what does she mean? Ms. Goodman said, "We need to have [a free press] in the United States - to be able to get different perspectives. It's absolutely critical." I agree, especially when it comes to a true diversity of opinion. Listen for and beware of people who say they are sick and tired of cable news and who imply they want to put an end to it (either FOX and/or MSNBC). Don't shut down anyone's freedom to express their opinions and don't use vulgarities! Instead, argue your point with logic - if you can! But, when Amy Goodman stood up for free speech, was she talking about FOX News? No, she was talking about Al Jazeera English! Do you support the rights of everyone to express their beliefs when you speak about freedom and democracy, or just the rights of a select few? I want you to speak up, even if you disagree with me!

Collective Reasoning

Wisconsin is ground zero of the union debate. States are broke and unions, drawing nice pensions and salaries during a great recession, are the target for savings. Once one broke state sees this debate, they may all follow suit, much like they are in finding Obamacare unconstitutional. Unions have agreed to one time paybacks, but the real issue is over union strongholds to prevent future financial burdens stopping the bleeding, not just putting a band aid over it.

In the private sector, the boss has finite wiggle room. Ultimately he can give only so much to union demands before he prices the business out of the market and puts both parties out of work. (Some argue we are already there with many American jobs going overseas.) But in the public sector, that firewall is non-existent. Politicians negotiate money that's not theirs. And the more they please the unions, the more re-election backing they get. When the bill comes due, they are often long out of office. The real issue is not temporary cuts, but the power a union has over politics.

Governor Scott Walker's proposed bill makes union dues voluntary, giving individual members choice where their money goes. The idea spurs calling proponents "Hitler" and that "freedom" is being taken away, for if today it's collective bargaining, what will be taken tomorrow? But the message of freedom is being perverted. The debate is less about individual rights as it is about the power it gives an individual party, for freedom cannot exist for the collective. Freedom can only serve the individual.
