We Have Become a Welfare Nation, We Dont Make Things Anymore

It is really sad that there are more Americans settling to work for the comforts within the government than to work for the private sector in producing goods and services. This is why many states are going into bankruptcy. The government takes the tax payers money to pay these civil servants. The more the government grows the higher our taxes are needed to be levied to pay the government employee.

(WSJ) If you want to understand better why so many states—from New York to Wisconsin to California—are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, consider this depressing statistic: Today in America there are nearly twice as many people working for the government (22.5 million) than in all of manufacturing (11.5 million). This is an almost exact reversal of the situation in 1960, when there were 15 million workers in manufacturing and 8.7 million collecting a paycheck from the government.

It gets worse. More Americans work for the government than work in construction, farming, fishing, forestry, manufacturing, mining and utilities combined. We have moved decisively from a nation of makers to a nation of takers. Nearly half of the $2.2 trillion cost of state and local governments is the $1 trillion-a-year tab for pay and benefits of state and local employees. Is it any wonder that so many states and cities cannot pay their bills?

Don't expect a reversal of this trend anytime soon. Surveys of college graduates are finding that more and more of our top minds want to work for the government. Why? Because in recent years only government agencies have been hiring, and because the offer of near lifetime security is highly valued in these times of economic turbulence. When 23-year-olds aren't willing to take career risks, we have a real problem on our hands. Sadly, we could end up with a generation of Americans who want to work at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Actually, We Have 10 percent Unemployment

The unemployment figures provided monthly by the government are always revised and can never paint a true picture of the job market. With the manipulations by the Obama government, Americans can't trust what bogus unemployment numbers the government projects. Therefore, Gallup provides an actual real number of our current state of our economy. Without seasonal adjustments, this country had a 10% unemployment in the month of March. It is a decreasing trend, but still way above the psychological threshold of 8%. Underemployment gives a true picture of our job market and it fell 19.3%. This is really high, and it is not surprising that the government won't disclose it.

(Gallup) PRINCETON, NJ -- Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, was 10.0% in March -- down from 10.2% in mid-March and 10.3% at the end of February, but above the 9.8% at the end of January. U.S. unemployment was 10.4% at the end of March a year ago.

Underemployment combines part-time workers wanting full-time work with those who are unemployed. Both groups' readings fell in March; consequently, underemployment also fell, to 19.3% from 19.9% in mid-March and at the end of February. Underemployment was more than a full percentage point higher one year ago.

The percentage of part-time workers who want full-time work was 9.3% at the end of March -- down from 9.7% in mid-March and 9.6% in both February measurements. The current percentage remains higher than the 9.1% at the end of January but lower than the 10.0% of a year ago.

Great Job Obama: Unemployment Rate at 10.0%

I guess Obama really is living up to his campaign slogan. Unemployment has certainly changed and people are without hope.

Video: Abu Ghraib vs. The Kill Team Story

John Hawkins of RWNs compares Abu Ghraib with the Kill Team in Libya.

Why isn't the media covering the Kill Team Story the same way they covered Abu Ghraib? The story is just as relevant. They have pictures. It's because Barack Obama is in the White House and they want to protect him.

Fmr CIA Counterterrism Analyst To CNN Anchor: "You're Just Carrying The Water For Mr. Obama"

CNN has been carrying water for Obama since he first reared his commie head. It is great to see someone with the balls to say it to them face to face.

And While I Was Gone…

The world didn’t become a better place. Our absolutely dyspepsic middle eastern policy has just about everybody shaking their heads. Now, the morons want to arm the Libyan rebels so that our guys and gals over there can get our own stuff fired back at us.

‘Her Thighness’, Hillary Clinton, has been rocketing from capital to capital, braying the administration’s next change of course, change of mind, or the next whimsical pronouncement of the ‘Anointed One’, arguably the least influential person on the international scene. Notice I didn’t use the word ‘leader’.

Speaking of leadership, I’ve been watching the antics of the Republican leadership with increasing unease, bordering on anger. They still don’t get it. They had thousands of Tea Party Patriots demonstrating outside Congress and they still don’t get it.

Allow me to lay this out for you establishment Republicans once again… one point seven trillion dollars in deficit this year alone. And now these brave, brave men have the unmitigated temerity to come to the taxpaying patriots of this country with a heroic sixty billion dollars in deficit spending cuts. Words fail me…

The Marxists, in the form of Harry Reid and Upchucky Schumer, are trumpeting that our Republican intransigence will result in a government shutdown. Oh, No! Lions and tigers and bears… Oh, my! This is what has Boehner quaking? Bleating that we’re only 1/2 of 1/3 of the government? This is why he and the rest of the so-called ‘leaders’ that we, you and I, worked hard and skillfully to get elected, have the nerve to say to us that they cannot do the job that we sent them to Washington to do because it may cause a government shutdown!
Shut that sucker down!

What if we shut down the government and nothing happened? Because that’s exactly what would occur. All essential services would still function. The only ones who would be discomfited would be politicians, bureaucrats and parasitic government types in their hundreds of thousands… and that’s a good thing.

I see that Repubic Scott Brown opened his mouth and labeled himself as the new primo RINO in the Senate. I’m sure McCain must be jealous. Mr Brown labeled the insignificant sixty billion dollars in proposed cuts as ‘irresponsible’. One has to wonder… has this man, who we judged to be fairly intelligent, any grasp on reality?

What slays me is that you can hear these various Republicans on the conservative radio talk circuits and they all sound like bold deficit hawks, and reiterate that they know who put them in office and with what mandate. Yet all we get out of the House leadership are these lame squeeks and bleats about why we can’t do something.
Fellow Patriots, I sense another change wind blowing…

Post Script: To those of you who followed my son’s recent illness… we brought him home (he had a drug -resistant pneumonia that almost killed him) and with a few weeks’ rest he should be fine.
Why in the world would any sane person want to trade the most magnificent medical system in the world for Osama… whoops, slip of the keyboard, Obamacare? Think about it.

GOP budget would kill 70,000 children

Idiot liberals! So, Democrats funding for abortions isn't the same thing? I say screw it! If China wants to be the next world leader, let them help fund it. We can't be saving the world, and at the same time, lose our world exceptional status. Enough is enough. If we don't cut spending, there will be more than 70,000 children dead.

(Foreign Policy) As Congress struggles to negotiate a budget deal to keep the government running, the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) told lawmakers Wednesday that the GOP version of the budget bill would result in the deaths of at least 70,000 children who depend on American food and health assistance around the world.

"We estimate, and I believe these are very conservative estimates, that H.R. 1 would lead to 70,000 kids dying," USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah testified before the House Appropriations State and Foreign Ops subcommittee.

"Of that 70,000, 30,000 would come from malaria control programs that would have to be scaled back specifically. The other 40,000 is broken out as 24,000 would die because of a lack of support for immunizations and other investments and 16,000 would be because of a lack of skilled attendants at birth," he said.

The Republican bill, known as H.R.1, was passed by the House, and would fund the government for the rest of fiscal 2011. It would effectively cut 16 percent from the Obama administration's original fiscal 2011 request for the international affairs account.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) pointed out that H.R. 1 would provide $430 million for the International Disaster Assistance (IDA) account, which is 50 percent below the president's fiscal 2011 request and 67 percent below fiscal 2010 levels.

Is America Under Nuclear Threat From Within?

Is America Under Nuclear Threat From Within? Al Qaeda’s Nuclear Bombs in America A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet "The threats came in the mail and to date, there have been 25 letters that warn of nuclear bombs destroying America. People who got them called the FBI and CBS 2's Kristyn Hartman learned, the Bureau’s Chicago office is leading the investigation." (Read the rest of the story here at the (SOURCE)) Above is the lead paragraph of a story which appears on the website of CBS Chicago at (SOURCE). At the time this story was published 25 letters had been received. The article goes on to explain that the writer of at least one of the letters claims there are a total of 160 nuclear bombs, which were smuggled into the USA and these bombs have already been planted in schools, stadiums, churches, stores, financial institutions -- and government buildings. According to the recipient of one of the letters, the writer claims to be Bin Laden, himself, and he declares that, yes, this IS a suicide mission. The FBI is on the case and, as usual, are saying very little publicly about it. But, the letters apparently turned up in other states as well. Among them, Oregon, California, Texas and Florida also got the letter, which has a Chicago postmark. So... what if it is true? Or what if it is the work of terrorists just being terrorists? See -- the work of a terrorist is to create terror or to spread terror. Or -- what if it is just a hoax ... a cruel "April Fool's Day" joke? Well, this is the kind of hoax that could land the perpetrator in jail for oh, say, two-hundred and fifty years. (Up to ten years in jail for each letter) Now, maybe it is just me, but it seems clear that IF this is a hoax, the moment those letters were dropped in the mail box, the hoax became an act of terrorism, domestic, or whatever... but terrorism, nevertheless. The FBI declares it will apprehend the "perp", and they probably will, but so far as we have been able to determine -- the feds have not said whether the writer of those missives will be charged as a terrorist, or not. Americans have become complacent, again, here within what we have always felt was our sanctuary, our fortress, or "safe-room" of a country. 9-11 only shook us awake for a moment and soon we slipped right back into our "it can't happen here" national pipe dream existence. 9-11 forever proved that IT CAN HAPPEN HERE and probably will happen here -- AGAIN! The problem here is: We can't satisfy ourselves that this is JUST a hoax and let it go. America IS vulnerable. At some level, we all know that. Our doors are standing open just inviting someone to enter and create mischief. Our borders are nearly wide open. As long as the majority of our government is comprised of those who naively believe in an open society, a world without borders, the southern and northern borders of America will remain open to illegal immigration, of any kind, including entry by those intending to do as much harm to American citizens as they possibly can. THAT is why this kind of story can gain so much traction so quickly. Americans know we are vulnerable and we also know we cannot depend upon our government to protect us any longer. Firearms are flying off the shelves as worried Americans have their own epiphany concerning the ability of the government to protect us from, well, whatever. Concealed weapons carry laws are passing in states all over the country. We are worried about our safety -- and with good reason. We have been at war for ten or more years now, and we have now managed to stumble into a third front in that war and our military resources are stretched thin. We have a President who is certainly no warrior, hasn't even a warrior cell in his body -- and a national legislature that hasn't been able to bring itself to officially declare war on any country we have fought since the second world war. This sort of conduct only serves to lend credibility to the feeling of insecurity Americans feel today. When our own government will not use the term "War on Terror" you just have to know they are not serious. Our enemies are serious, though. Look. We ALL KNOW this is a war between opposing religions. But Americans won't say it in public. Our Islamic enemies know it is a war about religion. Their stated goal is to wipe out the infidels, the unbelievers in Islam, and set up a world-wide caliphate -- a world-wide Islamic government. That, dear readers, is a war about religion. We are fighting religious fanaticism. Only religious fanatics would even threaten to plant bombs in schools -- and -- actually kill themselves as suicide bombers. Are there nuclear bombs planted in America? I haven't a clue! If you read the story you know as much as I do. Hopefully, the FBI will get to the bottom of it quickly. In the meantime, we can rest assured that another attack on our homeland IS coming. The questions are when -- and where?
