Florida Trooper pulls Miami officer over for going 120 mph
"A Miami Police officer was arrested at gunpoint and charged with reckless driving after allegedly leading the Florida Highway Patrol on a seven-minute chase in his squad car at speeds that reached 120 mph on Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County earlier this month.
A highway patrol trooper pulled out her gun to arrest Fausto López, 35, after he reportedly ignored repeated warnings to stop.
Watts ordered López to step out of the vehicle, handcuffed and detained him. As he was getting out of his vehicle, López explained to Watts that he was driving so quickly because he was late to his off-duty job, which started at 7 a.m.
López could not be reached for comment. As of Saturday, he was still assigned to regular duty at the Miami Police Department, said Cmdr. Delrish Moss, "because at this point it’s a traffic offense."
López was released, but was criminally charged with reckless driving, which is considered a second-degree misdemeanor."
Media Smears Cain Because He is a Strong Black Conservative
The media is trying to level the playing field for the GOP primaries. Herman Cain has propelled up in rank leaving many of the GOP contenders behind. The media hate conservatives rising in popularity, especially a black conservative. I would think it would be a nice contrast between two black men with two different philosophies got at it in the general election. I thought giving the American public a good show was the purpose of the media.

(RealClearPolitics) Ann Coulter responds to a report from the "liberal publication" Politico that Herman Cain sexually harassed two women while he was the president of the National Restaurant Association.
"Liberals are terrified of Herman Cain. He is a strong conservative black man. Look at the way they go after Allen West and Michael Steele and they aren't even running against Obama. They are terrified of strong, conservative, black men," Coulter said.
The most damning part of the report, which is not well sourced, seems to be that Mr. Cain made "physical gestures" that weren't sexual in nature, but made the women uncomfortable:

We suffered a malfunction. The lights went out on our main site. At first I thought, okay, it must have been the article that Dee recently managed to slip by the editorial staff at the Daily Kos. My imagination summoned a legion of spittle-drooling, knuckle-dragging hackers in their mothers’ basements mounting an assault against our sites.
We had certainly stirred up an ants nest over there, as it was. There were some panties over there so twisted up it was cutting off their circulation. We had much the same thing happen a couple of times when the Huff ‘n Puff Post published a couple of our articles, probably because an editor published off a headline or a sub-head without reading the article. The results were hysterical. It was just as though we took a stick and stirred up a nest of Texas Fire Ants. Some of them actually actively looked for us for several months. Cute trick, since we publish from ‘somewhere’ in Wales.
So the lights went out and it was because of the bank’s apparent inability to post a payment on time. Gee, there it is, Dee… we’re victims. Victims of big banking. What a hoot. That’s exactly what the whole ‘progressive’ movement is all about. Taking victimization and attempting to codify it.
As genuinely sick and tired as I am of listening to the statist Lame Stream Press carry water for the left and its Marxist agenda, I can take solace from readers comments on the subject saying much the same things. They are (the statists) steadily losing ground and influence, and they know it.
The leftists have a largely deaf ear to those of us outside of the political class. Until, that is, their political agenda is threatened and then they quickly morph into their ‘party of the people’ mode to once again convince the ‘victim’ class that the visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads will come true… if only they wait. The real and present problem for the left, trying to re-ignite the spark that swept Barack Hussein into office, is that many of his base really believed the things that were said and promised.
As the first glow of victory faded and the light of reality shone on Barack Obama’s stewardship of the country, even his most ardent supporters had trouble defending him and his visibly destructive policies. The exodus of support continues to this day, three years down the road. Even the ‘victims’ are tired of waiting.

Actually, they’re not lost geographically. We see them every day on the cable news channels and the evening news of the broadcast networks. This decade they call themselves the “Occupy Wall Street” Group. I believe they are lost, unrecoverable, as productive, patriotic, Americans. I’m no shrink, but I believe they will carry a degree of bitterness, for the reminder of their lives, as a result of America’s rejection of their attempt to force a socialist form of government on a nation of people who love freedom. The risk was theirs to take. History will record their failure -- a failure they will never be able to put behind them. They will drag it like an anchor throughout their lifetime. They have made their choice and they now must live with the consequences.
These people have been around since Vladimir Lenin. They are espousing the socialist/communist line and they are SOOOOO DUMB they don’t have a clue they are being used by the shadowy figures organizing and financing their infantile protestations.
Those dirty, smelly, boorish, idiots are disposable tools of the leftist power brokers, themselves the mortal enemies of capitalists and democracy.
They are supported by the Communist Party, the Socialist Party, the Nazi Party, the Democratic Party …… . We should add the labor unions to this OUTSTANDING gaggle of anti-capitalist left-wingers.
They don’t know WHAT the want – but they want it NOW. It is the primal cry of an infant seeking attention.
If you are expecting anything good to come of the rent-a-riot crowd in our streets these days, you should reconsider. This whole “OWS” movement is going to end in disaster. This ain’t my first rodeo. I have seen this before. It always ends in tragedy.
As the shrillness of the demonstrators mounts, the public’s tolerance level will fall. At some point in the future, a tipping point will be reached and blood will be spilt and lives lost. It is the nature of clashes between groups of human beings. We call them wars, civil wars, insurrections, riots,
Demonstrations, and at their inception – “protests.”
Power brokers the world over always use the youth to fight their wars and secure their goals. They use youth’s own overestimation of themselves and their intellect. For the most part they are that point in life at which they are dumb as posts. Their minds are mushy and pliable and easily melded into a gestalt or group mentality in which even a coward feels powerful. They think and act as a single animal with multiple voices expressing thoughts not their own. They are pitiful creatures. But then, so is a mad dog.
They are the flotsam of our society. They take pride in soiling themselves, our cities, and our society with their witless demands that Americans hand over their freedom and their wealth to an omnipotent government THEY believe will redistribute the collective wealth of America “fairly.”
Grown-ups understand that life is not “fair.”
Economic fairness equals socialism. Under socialism, the government owns all the wealth of the nation. The government then doles it out, as IT sees fit, in order that ALL its citizens suffer equally. Winston Churchill understood that and said so many times.
The protesters we see in America’s streets today are a product of America’s failed educational system, including America’s institutions of “higher” learning. They have no clear understanding of who they are as Americans. They are no longer tethered to America’s history and heritage. Like our current one-term President, Obama, they feel they are citizens of the world rather than citizens of America. They lack the basic knowledge of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into founding and building this nation while, at the same time, winning its freedom from a despotic king -- and maintaining its freedom through the sacrifice of the lives of their forefathers.
They are not “Americans’ in the truest sense of the word. They are “Globalists.” The blame for this lack of patriotism toward a country that nurtured them is, in my opinion, the fault of America’s failed educational system.
As I said above – they are flotsam. They have no attachments, no allegiance, to anything, or anyone, but themselves. They give new depth to the meaning of “psychopath.” They have no empathy or remorse for their behavior.
Freedom of speech is one thing. But attempting to FORCE your will on a society that chose, long ago, to forsake a socialist form of government based on the historical record of socialism’s failure as a workable way to govern and for the pain and anguish it brings to those forced to live by it’s tenants.
America has been deeply wounded by the 1960’s forerunners of the OWS movement. They have infiltrated our educational system, our clergy, and our government. Today we are paying the toll for their infectious influence on all three institutions.

God Dumps Snow and Misery on the Occupy Wall Steet
In the past 48 hours, Americans are witnessing a freak winter storm in the Northeast. From a pleasant temperate fall weather, it turned miserably cold and damp for the Occupy Wall Street protesters in NYC. As for like-minded Christians, the 3-inch snowfall dumped on the protesters was a sign from the heavens. It was God telling the protesters to knock it off and go home. It is interesting to note that the Occupy Wall Street protesters raised close to $500,000. It would be nice to know who donated the money to them. Raising half a million dollar is extraordinary for a group that is very disorganized.
(CBSNewYork) – Saturday’s snow storm made life in Zuccotti Park miserable for Occupy Wall Street protesters.
Demonstrators were left drenched with rain and then snow as the storm moved through the region. Central Park set a record for both the date and the month of October with 2.9 inches of snow.
Those camping out in the park have been stockpiling donated blankets, scarves, coats and have been trying to get more tents, cots and tarps.
Reportedly, some have been even getting winter weather survival tips from the homeless.
They say they’re also looking for thermal heaters after fire officials removed six of the protesters’ gas-powered generators from Zuccotti Park on Friday, saying it was safety issue.
Without generators, protesters were left with just flashlights and lanterns. Lights, cooking equipment and the media center at Zuccotti Park were all turned off.
Fire officials say storing gasoline in such packed quarters is simply too dangerous.
The movement is also expected to reveal just how much money they have raised and spent in the first five weeks of the Occupy Wall Street campaign.
OWS has reportedly raised nearly $454,000 and has spent more than $50,000 so far for things like food, clothing, medical supplies, laundry, media and other expenses.

Pelosi Defends Obamacare Waivers To 1,800 Firms
Pelosi tried to duck a right cross, but was unable to counter a body blow to the stomach. The former House Speaker acted like an idiot in an interview with CNBC. In reference to Obamacare, she was defending the president's position by giving waivers to 1,800 companies. Pelosi keeps referring to them as small companies, but she forgot that McDonalds, one of the nation's largest employers, got the first wavier. It is hard to defend stupidity.

Egyptian Military Likes to be in Power. Not Giving it Up
I wrote many months ago that a shift of power from a dictator to the military will be problematic. Since the people of Egypt ousted Mubarak in February 2011, the Egyptian military took power. For the past 8 months, the military is enjoying the power as a governing body. It is clear the transition will be a long process. The election in Egypt is next month and I don't think the military will accept a newly elected Parliament. There are hints that the newly elected body will compose of many Mubarak supporters. If so, the Egyptian protest was all for naught.
(Breitbart) Several thousand protesters in Cairo called on the ruling military on Friday to promptly transfer power to a civilian government and exclude old regime figures from politics.
The protesters in Tahrir Square, the epicentre of Egypt's uprising that ousted president Hosni Mubarak in February, chanted "down with the military" and called on the ruling generals to "return to the barracks."
The military assumed power after Mubarak's ouster on February 11, promising a transition to civilian rule within six months. It is headed by Mubarak's former defence minister Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi.
Protesters at first hailed the military for not cracking down on the uprising after Mubarak called soldiers to the streets on January 28, following attacks on police stations.
But its popularity has eroded amid accusations of rights abuses and suspicion that it is prolonging the transition, which it now says will be happen after presidential elections sometime next year.
Egypt will vote for a new parliament starting on November 28, but parties and activists who spearheaded the anti-Mubarak revolt fear his supporters will enter parliament, either as independents or members of newly formed parties.

That was simply Tebow "Tebowing," a phrase coined by a fan sitting in a bar in New York watching the popular yet polarizing quarterback rally the Denver Broncos.
Jared Kleinstein was mesmerized by Tebow's peaceful demeanor kneeling on the turf amid all the chaos that ensued. He launched a website in which fans could submit photos of themselves "Tebowing," which means getting down on a knee and praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different.
The trend is picking up steam.

Are Liberals Born From Conservative Thought? Actually,
I thought about titling this article “What the Hell is Wrong with People?”
simply because this was the thought that kept running through my mind as I read
the letter (below) as well as various articles and comments regarding the
letter. I eventually thought better of though. Maybe we can consider it a
subtitle. At any rate, before I go any further, what follows is an email I received
yesterday.
This was written
by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It's her future she’s worried about and this
is how she feels about the social welfare big government state that she’s being
forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.
This was in the

Put me in charge . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone
Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of
rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away.
If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do
is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll
test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and
piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and
piercings, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in
a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good
state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime
and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then
get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub
from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may
be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing,
whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires
and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common
good..”
Before you write that I've violated someone's
rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money,
accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and
ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that
taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and
lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's
mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.
The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND, While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no
longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of
interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are
receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.
To begin with, this letter was not written by a 21-year
old female from Texas. It was written by Alfred W. Evans, a retired Army sergeant
from Gatesville, Texas. In reading this letter (and many have since it went “viral”
throughout the internet last year – Source), I can clearly sense the frustration felt
by its author, as well as the authors of the numerous comments. Included in the
various comments sections across the web, are liberals spouting forth the usual
epithets of “racist,” “hate monger,” “idiot,” etc. In fact, by and large the
majority of the comments were either in support (often vehemently) of Mr. Evans
proposals or they were against (again, often vehemently) his proposals.
Quite frankly, I find both the letter and the vast
majority of comments (both for and against) to be terribly offensive. As far as
the comments made by liberals, well, I expect them for the most part. There are
some intelligent liberals out there who are not governed by their emotions and
their sense of entitlement, and although they still have some odd ideas and
philosophies about American politics, at least they are civil when having a
conversation. It is the conservatives, however, that truly surprise me. In fact
I would say that I am fairly dismayed by what some of the conservatives wrote.
In spite of the obvious frustration that the author of
this letter feels, relegating those on welfare to the status of something less
than second class citizens is appalling. The author (Mr. Evans) states that if
he were “in charge” those receiving food stamps would be allowed to purchase
only rice, beans, blocks of cheese, and powdered milk. That’s it. Also on Mr.
Evans proposal is forced birth control and sterilization for all women
receiving Medicaid, and being gainfully employed would be a mandatory
requirement for anyone wishing to reproduce. Margaret Sanger, hero of socialist
left, would be very proud of the “conservative” Mr. Evans.
Mr. Evans goes on to advocate the confiscation of
personal property and the revocation of the Constitutional right to vote for
all who receive welfare benefits. He does attempt to soften his proposal by
stating that all of these things would be strictly voluntary, but this is
clearly an afterthought on Mr. Evans’s part. An obvious attempt by Mr. Evans to
provide himself with an “out” should anyone disagree with him. But this is as
obvious as the old “Well, hypothetically speaking” preamble used by those who
do not wish to implicate themselves when discussing a distasteful topic. Obviously
no one receiving welfare benefits would ever voluntarily submit to these
provisions, and it is equally obvious that Mr. Evans truly wants his proposal
enacted and enforced by the government. And that is what I find so disheartening, as
Mr. Evans calls himself a conservative.
I will admit that there is massive welfare fraud going on
this country, and the welfare system is needs to be revamped and better
regulated. There are far too many able bodied men and far too many baby making
machines receiving unneeded and undeserved welfare benefits. There are also many
who received disability benefits who neither deserve nor need them. I have
personally witnessed one “disabled” individual who claimed he could not walk
without assistance, and yet when he thought no one was watching, he could walk and run, without any problem whatsoever.
But why would someone who calls himself a conservative
allow himself to be so governed by his emotions and be so quick to throw reason
and logic out the window, as to say that anyone who receives welfare benefits

Maybe the Occupy Madison movement should be called the Occupy Jizz movement or something. Public masturbating is known to be a trait of monkeys and chimpanzees. So it only seems natural that these left wing nut jobs who have acted like animals would do such a thing. According to Pundit Press, Occupy Madison has temporarily been denied an extension in their protesting permit because some of their members have violated “public health and safety conditions.” The most notable was repeated complains from a nearby hotel, which stated that protesters were “publicly masturbating” in full view of passersby. Thank god their is no YouTube video of this going around (or is there?.)
Now, @OccupyMadison99 on Twitter claims there was never a “permit” because they never applied for one. But I don’t see any denial from that Twitter “person” or bot about the public slapping off. So you can decided for yourself.
Paul Streeter, an OWS spokesman, responded to the situation: “[The protest] is indeed a work in progress,” he said. “We will continue to address issues as they come up.”

Since the variety program's premiere on Oct. 10, O'Donnell has tackled topics from her renewed, menopausal sex drive to police brutality at the Occupy Wall Street protests.
"I'm going to talk about things that matter as well as entertaining fun things. But we're not going to leave stuff out. We're going to talk about what's current — what's happening and what people are talking about in real life," O'Donnell said in an interview with the Associated Press on Thursday.
O'Donnell's outspokenness about the Iraq War led to her abrupt exit on "The View," and her no-holds-barred attitude may have landed her a few high-profile enemies, but the comedian's new boss embraces her lack of filter.
"Oprah is so supportive," said O'Donnell, 49. "She said, 'Trust your instincts, go with your gut, you know what to do, trust yourself.' And that's what I've been doing."
"The Rosie Show," a mash up of celebrity interviews, standup comedy, musical acts, games and reality TV, has garnered mixed reviews and lackluster ratings. But O'Donnell remains optimistic.
"We're going slow and steady," she said. "It's a marathon, not a sprint. And it's Oprah Winfrey, so I would not bet against her. That's for sure."

The President’s vote-buying tour continues.
I see now he is announcing a new executive initiative to re-write the paradigm for student loans. This time, the deal is you borrow from the federal government (read: we taxpayers), and you pay the loan back at 10% of your income over $10,890, and at the end of 20 years whatever hasn’t been repaid is forgiven.
Where do I sign up?
This isn’t the first time this President has ventured into the lending business, which should really come as no surprise given his extensive background in business and finance. But let’s review a bit of the history, shall we?
Rewind to the Spring and Summer of this year. With unemployment stagnant at over 9% (really closer to 18% if you count the underemployed and those who have given up), and an economy showing effectively zero growth, Obama declares a budget emergency because the government reached its debt limit. Having maxed out the credit card by accelerating the debt in just two years more than any administration in history, Obama spent much of June and July insisting that Congress had to raise the debt limit and allow him to borrow—and continue spending—even more.
Recall also the Solyndra debacle. The Obama administration not only fast-tracked $500 million in federally guaranteed loans to a soon-to-be-bankrupt firm in an unproven startup industry without adequate financial review, it then doubled-down by restructuring the deal so that the taxpayers moved to the back of the creditor-priority queue. Touted as a necessary “investment” in our green energy future, it is becoming increasingly clear that the $500 million bet on Solyndra was at best a naïve play on one of the Left’s most basic fetishes by an administration full of career academics, with neither the training nor the expertise to be dabbling in such high-risk business ventures. At worst, it was just naked crony capitalism.
Or outright graft.
Or how about earlier this week when the President unveiled an initiative to push banks to make high-risk, low-interest loans to people with iffy repayment ability, secured by mortgages on homes worth less than the amount being loaned. As I discussed here, this is simply a reprise of the very federal mortgage program concepts that led to the banking industry meltdown and the current recession/malaise in the first place.
Over and over again we see this administration getting involved in so-called "loan" transactions where the concept of risk and the obligation of repayment seem not to exist. I had a college buddy whose girlfriend couldn’t understand why her bank account was empty when she still had checks left. It is clear that this President suffers from the same fundamental ignorance about money, and what loans and debt are.
Obama’s focus is solely on the borrower. But when a student, or home purchaser, or business borrows money, that money doesn’t just fall from the sky. The President forgets or does not understand that there are in fact two parties to a loan transaction. Yes, there is the borrower who receives the money. But there’s also the lender who supplies the money, and the key concept here is that the lender is only allowing the borrower temporary use of the lender’s money. A loan is not a donation, and it’s not a gift. The lender makes his money available to the borrower with the express expectation that at some agreed-upon time (or over an agreed-upon period of time), the borrower will pay that money back.
It’s this latter part that Obama simply just doesn’t get, whether the context is borrowing to finance runaway government spending, compelling banks to make high-risk refinancing mortgage loans, or lending federal tax dollars to unproven green tech ventures or college students:
Eventually the money has to be paid back.
If we ignore (or “forgive”) the repayment obligation, all we’re really doing is taking money from one person and giving it to the other. That’s a great deal if you’re the borrower. Not so much if you’re the lender.
Let’s put this into perspective in the student loan context. There are some 36 million student debtors with an estimated total of $1 trillion in outstanding student loans. By reworking the program to call for payments at only 10% of income above the poverty line and combining it with total debt forgiveness at 20 years, the President is inviting deliberate default—effectively taking $1 trillion from the taxpayers and giving it away to college students. Yes, I know not every student will default, but the more unscrupulous will.
And there’s the not-so-small problem of huge amounts of these loans being used to finance economically and socially useless degrees—some would say my political science and law degrees fall into this category, but I paid my student loans—where there simply is no job market for such graduates, and thus no real prospect that they’re going to have the economic wherewithal to pay the loan back once you have your loan-financed degree. Quite like Solyndra, the making of these loans is not tied to any realistic assessment of the likelihood that the money will be repaid. Chris Stirewalt at Foxnews.com put some flesh on the problem:
"If Suzy Creamcheese gets into George Washington University and borrows from the government the requisite $212,000 to obtain an undergraduate degree, her repayment schedule will be based on what she earns. If Suzy opts to heed the president’s call for public service, and takes a job as a city social worker earning $25,000, her payments would be limited to $1,411 a year after the $10,890 of poverty-level income is subtracted from her total exposure.
Twenty years at that rate would have taxpayers recoup only $28,220 of their $212,000 loan to Suzy."
Some might say Stirewalt’s example is too extreme (actually, he’s understated the case, because he doesn’t include interest). Let me take something a little more realistic, then. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the median income for those 25-34 with an undergraduate degree is $45,000. At that income level, the student would only be paying $3,411 per year, or a total of $68,220 over the 20 year life of the loan. To be sure, not everyone will take out the full $212,000 in Stirewalt’s hypothetical—the average is more like $27,000—but plenty will borrow between $50,000 and $100,000, and the median income figures suggest that a substantial number of them will never pay the full amount back under Obama’s reduced-payment-and-forgiveness plan. UPDATE 10/27/11: Not sure how I missed this, but AP reports (sorry, I can't find the link now) the White House is claiming that despite the obvious mathematical necessity that a substantial amount of these loans will never be repaid, somehow this program will not cost taxpayers anything.
When I graduated from Rice University, President George Rupp told us in his commencement address that “there is no free lunch.” Eventually, someone has to pay the tab for all this.

On November 9th, 2011 Americans will get an up close and personal demonstration of the new powers the US government has given itself over America’s broadcast services.
There will be a complete take over of the nation’s air waves, both television and radio – plus -- cable television systems, wireless cable systems, satellite digital audio radio service (SDARS) providers, and direct broadcast satellite (DBS) providers. The power to do this is now in the hands of the President. Only he has the authority to do this. (SOURCE)
On November 9th there will be a test of how effectively the system will work whenever the President decides he must speak to the American people reference an emergency that threatens the nation.
Who exactly, decides when there is a national emergency? I would expect it to be the President himself.
I am a 30-year veteran of the broadcast business (retired) and this sends chills up and down my spine. I have visions of Big Brother taking control of the nation’s broadcast systems any time the President feels the need.
But that is not the worst of my concerns.
There is no such thing as “privacy” in America any longer. The moment I press “send” on my e-mail, the government scans it. Every time I make a phone call, whether on my land line, or my cell phone, the government monitors it. If I send a fax on an instant message, the government scans the wording of the fax. If and when I send a text message, the government reads it, too. UNBELIEVABLE, right? Believe it.
This is a combined project referred to as “Echelon” (or The Echelon Network – sometimes called “The Five Eyes.”) involving the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, with listening posts that span the globe. Every phone call, e-mail, text message, wire, fax, instant message, computer, and even satellite phone calls is/are intercepted 24-hours a day, seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year. Listening posts are located in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Cyprus, Hungary, Pakistan, India, Oman, Kenya, and, yes, in Israel. And – there may well be others, and there probably are.

When you consider all this, then the TV show “Person of Interest” is not so far fetched – now, is it?

Intelligence monitoring of people in the area covered by the AUSCANZUKUS security agreement has caused concern. Some critics claim the system is being used not only to search for terrorist plots, drug dealers' plans, and political and diplomatic intelligence but also for large-scale commercial theft, international economic espionage, and invasion of privacy.

NOW, do you wonder why Americans stand close and whisper in public places, in 2011, yet mindlessly say anything to anyone online, or on a telephone or by text message?
Call me old fashioned, if you will, but it ticks me off to know that the government has the power to do this. By the time you read this, the government’s interception center has already read it!
Does this not concern Americans, Brits, Canadians, Aussies, and New Zealanders??? And PLEASE don’t give me the song and dance about protecting us from terrorists. Terrorists know about Echelon and use “runners” to deliver their messages – live human beings and word of mouth.
Now the government has given the Office of the President the right to simply turn off your radio and TV reception just so you and I can listen to the President of the US warn us of a national emergency, which, most likely, the regular TV and cable networks have already told us about!
As an American citizen, I feel violated. I used to have a right to privacy. No longer. Right along with a huge chunk of our freedom and liberty, privacy has been flushed down Big Brother’s toilet and into the “government septic tank.”
Come to think of it, every few years you have to clean our your septic tank. Seems to me, America’s national septic tank, in Washington, needs cleaning out!
