Is THIS the Voice of the Democratic Party?
If any of you think I am a conspiracy theorist, consider me dethroned by one Janeane Garafolo, except that I am perfectly sane, of course. She has already proven that she is “out there”, but when I watch Keith Olbermann (a big dolt in his own right) enthusiastically embracing her crazy views, I can’t help but to wonder how many registered Democrats do the same.
After viewing the video, I literally caught myself with my mouth hanging open in disbelief. I would have laughed – Garafolo being a professional comedian and all – if not for the fact that she is obviously serious about everything she is saying. This is a classic example of “The Pot calling the Kettle black”. Jeannie is spending her entire diatribe accusing the Tea Party of racism, but in such a horribly bigoted and stereotyped manner.
Of course, as always, the slanted mainstream media are equally to blame. After you watch the video, just imagine a conservative saying this with even half the venom and a fraction of the wording. The replay would be on every news cast for weeks and some maniacal photo of the speaker would be on the front page of newspapers in every major city and on the cover of Time and Newsweek. The Harry Reids of the world would surely flaunt his com- passionate politicism by jostling his way onto a major news program and demanding an apology from the “perpetrator”.
I’m not sure why the staggering hypocrisy surprises me. Maybe it’s because scenes like these go beyond the pale.
I remember when Condi Rice was handed the torch of Secretary of State. A logical, sensible person would think that members of NOW and the ACLU would be rejoicing on the rooftops. That there would be a huge bonfire raging on Pennsylvania Avenue where all the books regarding female and black oppression would be flung to their fiery destruction one by one as music played in the background until dawn. But no, because she was not a professed Democrat, she was instead snubbed and regarded as a political Uncle Tom (with that said, I personally spoke to many black people who totally admired her, but did so privately lest they be thrown to the curb by their peers also). So, as a result, instead of hearing the aforedescribed jolly noise, we heard this:
___________________________________________________ !!!!!
Until some Democrat steps forward and denounces Janeane Garofalo’s pitiful performance, I can only assume that they are sympathetic to her message. And if that’s so, they are more estranged from the typical citizen than even their inside critics could imagine.
Keep up the good work. You already lost a major democratic stronghold in New York a few weeks ago when replacing Anthony Weiner. Maybe if you continue in the same fashion, you’ll pull the plug on other major democratic candidates in the near future as well, including the one in the highest office. After all, if the rebuke is still not being heeded, perhaps it never will be.
I have never been shy about my opinions on the folly within the Republican Party. There is plenty. But let’s face it, the Dems are so much worse, and on such a consistent basis. Let’s just hope that a truly conservative candidate can exploit this democratic implosion and rescue us all from people like Janeane Garofalo.
