Remember what happened in 1916? Well, that may be a bit
before your time, so let me help you out a bit here. On the morning of March 9,
1916, a group of Mexican bandits crossed the border into the United States,
shot and killed seventeen Americans, and took over a town. The United States
Army showed up and chased the bandits back across the border and managed to
kill some of the scum before they got away. Clearly it was the immediate armed
response by the Army that routed the invaders and prevented anymore American
deaths at their hands.
As interesting as this may be, you may ask, what does
this have to do with anything today. Well, it has happened again. Just last
Thursday, a group of armed Mexican Federales crossed the border into the United
States and fired on American citizens. Fortunately no Americans were injured.
Instead of a swift response to this blatant attack on American soil by armed
agents of a foreign government (like the Army did in 1916), the Obama
administration says they will “investigate” the situation.
