Christie Preserving Future By Not Running

By announcing that he will not seek the Republican nomination, Chris Christie has secured a future in politics.

Christie explained during his press conference today that would did not feel right abandoning his job as Governor of New Jersey halfway through his term; a sentiment that should be applauded.

This is a wise move for Christie for a myriad of reasons.

First, the mainstream media would have thrown endless criticism his way for the simple fact that he ran after he said he would not. They would try to paint him as a poor decision maker who does not stick by his guns.

Second, he will not be painted as someone who abandons responsibility. Sarah Palin took this type of criticism after she resigned in 2009, before the end of her term.

By not running for President, Christie will be able to concentrate on fixing New Jersey, because as he said today, New Jersey was "pretty messed up" when he took office.

Many conservatives call Christie a RINO (Republican In Name Only) because he has liberal views on certain issues. When it comes to the major conservative issues, such as fiscal responsibility, Christie is as Republican as Ronald Reagan.

Hopefully, the next time we need to nominate a Republican will be 2020. Christie will have served at least one full term as governor and will be only 58 years old. Perhaps we can look forward to seeing Chris Christie in a debate in 2020.
