How is it that "Educated people" don't have a friggin clue about the politics they love to talk about? You're telling me that a Pulitzer prize winning author doesn't know that Obama and the dems controlled BOTH sides of the house for 2 years and could have done pretty much anything they wanted including the now so important Dream Act? I have had that very same argument with a liberal couple with whom my wife is friends with, they insisted that republicans were the ones holding back obamacare and that the gop ran the Senate and the House, Oy Vey!
