The Army Times
reported that Mitt Romney lead their poll of military members 2 – 1, last week. The national polls tell us the election is so
close, nationwide, that Romney could win the popular vote, while Obama ends up
winning the electoral vote – and therefore the Presidency. I fear we will not know, one way or the other,
for several days. Accusations of voter
fraud, malfunctioning devices, the infamous “hanging chads,” and so on may
preclude the accurate and definitive tally from being known until the courts
sort it all out.
This election cycle has divided this nation like no other I
can remember in recent history. The
level of nastiness and outright hatred on both sides – but predominantly from
the left – is mind blowing. Worse, it is
destructive to our national identity and unity.
It is as if the people on both sides have taken a stand, drawn a line in
the sand, and said we are a nation of compromise no more. It is a critical breaking point for us.
In fact, the political pendulum has swung so far from where
it was when this nation was founded, I see no other way for it to play
out. We will either return to the values
we held so dear just 60 years ago, or go the route of Obama’s vision for a
secular-socialist society that we have been spiraling toward since the hippie
generation took over. With a society so
polarized, there is little room for compromise.
There is no “compromise” really.
This is an either-or situation.
It is odd to me how the movement of tolerance and inclusion
of the 60s has been the impetus of our current predicament. Liberals have become the fascists, refusing
to meet anyone in the middle and getting vicious if you try. This fact alone is why it is so hard for me
to understand people of better than average intelligence and apparent common sense
in other matters so willing to vote for Obama.
It disturbs me, and it should you.
I can only attribute it to tunnel-vision; to the lack of big-picture
analysis on their part. It is obvious
many people are voting based on selfish, personal agendas rather than what is
best for the nation as a whole. It saddens me, but that’s Democracy. Let’s hope it remains a democracy after today’s
results are tallied.
It’s November 6th, people! Go to the polls and take your stand. Fight Obama and his socialist views for
America. We need everyone’s help to get
our society back on track. When you go,
take another with you that might not go on their own. Idle voters are Obama’s tools.
