A man in Florida is facing charges of prescription tampering, and possible murder chargers after switching his girlfriends antibiotics with Cytotec an abortion causing drug. The 26-year-old woman, identified as Remee Lee, says she found out about the pregnancy in March. She told her boyfriend, John Andrew Welden, the news. She says she had no money, so Welden took her to his father, Dr. Stephen Welden. Dr. Welden told her the baby was healthy. However, the next day her boyfriend called her and said that his dad, had found a bacterial infection that needed treatment. He then forged his father’s name to a prescription for Cytotec, and created a fake label that said Amoxicillin.
She took one of the pills, and went into labor. She had cramping and bleeding. She went to the hospital where the hospital determined that the baby had died. She knew that Welden did not want the child, and had purportedly said she would raise it without his assistance. When she told him that she was pregnant he encouraged her to have an abortion.

Andrew Welden faces life in prison without the possibility of parole under the federal “protection of unborn children” act. He also faces prescription tampering charges. He apparently has confessed to the premeditated nature of the crime, and admits to making a label for the bottle with a label maker. He tried to retrieve the medication at some point fearing that his crime would be discovered. Assistant District Attorney Stephen Muldrow told Judge Anthony Porcelli “In my years as a prosecutor, this case is one of the most shocking and premeditated cases I’ve seen,”
So naturally I say, throw the book at him. He deserves life in prison for depriving this woman of her baby. The child was healthy according to the defendants own father. He deliberately and without regard for the baby’s life or his girlfriends wishes tricked her into killing her own child. This is a horrible and shocking case. I am sickened that there are people out there that are so cowardly.
This does beg the question however, if the federal “Protection of Unborn Children Act” would give this man life in prison for killing a “fetus”, why is abortion still legal again? Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want this law eradicated. No, instead I would like it enforced. While I do understand the wording of it only applies to people who kill a “fetus” against the mothers will, it still brings up the question, if it isn’t a baby, why is it against the law to kill it? Should the person only be charged with assault on the woman? After all, isn’t the crux of the pro-choice people’s entire argument, that it isn’t a life? If it isn’t a life, then how can someone be charged with murder?
The truth is plain for everyone to see. The “Protection of Unborn Children Act” states clearly:
(1) Whoever engages in conduct that violates any of the provisions of law listed in subsection (b) and thereby causes the death of, or bodily injury (as defined in section1365) to, a child, who is in utero at the time the conduct takes place, is guilty of a separate offense under this section.
(2)
(A) Except as otherwise provided in this paragraph, the punishment for that separate offense is the same as the punishment provided under Federal law for that conduct had that injury or death occurred to the unborn child’s mother. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1841
What is the truth? The truth is this law obviously states that the punishment is the same as the punishment for killing the child’s mother. It is a completely separate offense. How can people who accept this law, continue to deny the truth of life at conception? If it isn’t a child, then why is it a crime to kill it? I mean if you kill someones dog, it is s crime, but certainly it is not punished the same. Famous Atheist Richard Dawkins says that babies are less developed than Pigs in utero. Then why is it more of a crime to kill someones unborn child, than it is to kill their pig? The answer is obvious. The truth is, the revulsion that we feel when we hear about a pregnant woman losing her baby due to violence, or deceit such as this, is the correct feeling. We feel that revulsion because our subconscious already knows what some people’s minds just wont grasp.
“This guy just killed a baby”. That is what we are all thinking. That is the sick feeling we feel in the pit of our stomach when we hear stories like this. The truth is there. Killing an unborn baby is wrong. This guy should get charged with murder. Though I wonder how the liberal hypocrites will be able to rationalize this in their mind.
