Hot Air Ted Cruz Stealth Attack - RINO BLOG WATCH

I have been pretty hard on Hot Air lately, but it has been for good reason. They are constantly attacking true conservatives like Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz, while painting Karl Rove's RINOS as more electable, more reasonable or more intelligent.

When they do put up a seemingly pro-Teaparty piece, it is not genuine. They think they are being cute. Allahpundit is narcissistic enough to believe that he can appease what he sees as the embarrassing but necessary grassroots hillbillies and push his enlightened establishment agenda all at the same time.

"Everybody thinks that Jenny has the crabs, but not me. I don't care what everyone else says, I think it would  be okay to go ahead and date her if you want." 

Man, what a swell guy for taking up for Jenny like that!

In his 8/22/13 thread Allahpundit managed to insult Rick Perry's intelligence, add a hint of credibility to left's totally predictable claim that Cruz is too smart to be a true Teabagger, and use the very cosmopolitan and centrist sounding word "reactionaries" all in the same paragraph.

Ted Cruz, a traitor to his class

Cruz’s sin is that, by all accounts, he is ideological and always has been. He’s a true believer, and smart people aren’t supposed to believe in something like that. More than that, he’s a populist, which is inexcusable to lefty intellectuals who see grassroots righties as a horde of ignorant reactionaries. It’s one thing to praise Hayek at an AEI forum, it’s another to play pied piper to America’s Greatest Threat

Then he went on to echo the words of one of those ignorant reactionaries almost verbatim:

If you can’t get Cruz on either of the first two counts, you’re naturally going to lean heavily on the third. Simple as that.
