Connect the Dots: Operation Penetrate – Part Two

Before we go further, I think it would be prudent to provide a brief explanation as to just who some of these terrorist organizations and terrorist sympathizers are.

AL QAEDA: Al Qaeda is a global militant Islamic terrorist organization founded by Osama bin Laden in 1988/1989. Al Qaeda calls for a global Islamic jihad and is best known for its attacks on America on September 11, 2001. It has been designated a terrorist organization by the United States, the United Nations Security Council, the European Union and NATO as well as various other countries. (Source)

Al SHABAAB: Also known as Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen (HSM), Al Shabaab is a militant Islamic organization that has been attempting to overthrow the government of Somalia. In November 2009, Al Shabaab established an Al Quds Brigade, a paramilitary unit created specifically for attacking Israel and Jewish interests in Africa. In 2010, Al Shabaab announced that it maintained strong ties with Al Qaeda. They are probably best known for their attack on Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard due to his satirical cartoons featuring Mohammed. Al Shabaab has been designated a terrorist organization by Australia, Canada, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. (Source)

HAMAS: Hamas was founded in 1987 as an off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. According to it’s charter, Hamas exists to establish an Islamic state in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Hamas is known to use violence against U.S. interests in the Middle East and on American soil. Hamas has received support from Iran and collaborates with the terrorist group Hezbollah. Hamas was designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department in 1993. (Source)

HEZBOLLAH: Also known as the “Party of god”, Hezbollah receives training, weapons and financial support from Iran and Syria. Several countries have classified Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and it was designated as such by the United States in 1999. (Source)

THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD: Founded in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood claims to be a non-religious political party. It’s stated goals include the instillation of the Koran and the Sunnah as the “sole reference point for ordering the life of the Muslim family, individual, community and state.” This includes the enforcement of Shariah law, the re-establishment of the Caliphate, and imposing the jizya tax on all non-Muslims in exchange for protection from the state. Its slogan is “Islam is the solution.” All of the 9/11 hijackers were associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the current leader of Al Qaeda was arrested in the 1980’s due to his involvement with Muslim Brotherhood terrorist activities. The Muslim Brotherhood maintains a presence in Bahrain, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yeman, Algeria, Sudan, Somalia, Tunisia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR): CAIR is a pro-Islamic advocacy group founded in 1994 by Omar Ahmad, Nihad Awad, and Rafeeq Jaber, three officials of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), an organization described as having intimate ties with the terror group Hamas. CAIR is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has regional offices nationwide. In 2007 CAIR was named by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist funding investigation. In 2008, FBI Special Agent Lara Burns stated that CAIR was “a front group for Hamas, and in 2009  FBI headquarters issued a mandate to all FBI field offices to sever all ties with CAIR as a result of CAIR’s ties with Hamas.

Connect the Dots: Operation Penetrate – Part One

I really enjoyed the Mel Gibson film Conspiracy Theory. In fact, I love conspiracies altogether. Not that I believe them, but they are fun. One of the things that I find fascinating about them is that in any good conspiracy, there is at least a grain of truth. I would even go so far to say that in any good conspiracy, the facts are almost always true or at least a good percentage of them. The problem does not lie in the facts surrounding the conspiracy, but in the conclusion, the interpretation of those facts.

Of course, the facts must be pertinent to the conspiracy; otherwise the conclusion / conspiracy will sound completely ridiculous regardless of the truth of the facts surrounding it. One can say that the former logo used by Procter & Gamble featured what appeared to be rams horns, and that the logo also featured a male face that was attached to the rams horns, and the numbers 666 appear throughout the logo and that the logo also featured 13 stars. All of this is true – at least to some extent. The conclusion based on these facts, however, was that since the number 666 is the number of Satan, and that the devil has rams horns and that the number 13 is also a satanic number – then obviously Procter & Gamble is a satanic organization. The problem with this is that it is all hogwash. The so-called ram’s horns are actually the moon, and the face is that of the man in the moon, and the 666 that is seen is merely curls in the hair and beard of the man in the moon. But you can see where conspiracies must have actual documented facts that are pertinent to the conclusion in order to be even remotely believable. One must be able to connect the dots so to speak, and the dots must follow a logical progression in order to arrive at a reasonable conclusion. Whether or not that conclusion is true is another matter.

Now that’s one heck of a prologue isn’t it! So, with that all being said, I will now present a group of facts that I have noticed over the past several months while surfing the web. I will not present a final conclusion based on this group of facts, however. I will leave that up to the reader (and no, the images appearing in this article are not a conclusion, they are merely satirical in nature, so don’t draw any conclusions based on them. Draw your conclusions only on the facts presented). But I would be interested to see if these are all just random facts that do not lead to any conclusion, or if there is something really here. If the following facts really were part of a conspiracy (as opposed to nothing more than completely random unconnected facts and incidents) then I would call this (non) conspiracy:

“After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we learned that our immigration system had been used by foreign terrorists to gain a safe haven in the United States. All of the 9/11 hijackers received visas to come to the U.S. And once they were here, all but one of the 9/11 hijackers acquired some form of a U.S. identification document. These forms of ID helped them board commercial flights on 9/11.” – Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) (Source)

“The southern border is porous, and we need to shut it down if we hope to get ahead of the problems that illegal immigration brings, …Less than 5 percent of the 125,000 containers coming into this country each day are ever inspected.” – Joe M. Allbaugh, former FEMA Director  (Source)

In February 2011, the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report which states that of the 1,969 mile border with Mexico, only 873 have been deemed secure according to the standards of the Department of Homeland Security. (Source)

There is little doubt that the federal government has either created a porous border (overtly or covertly), or has been ineffectual in creating a secure border (either overtly or covertly). Even the director of the FBI, Robert Mueller has stated that we “live in a world where borders and boundaries are increasingly irrelevant.” (Source)

That the federal government has allowed such a porous border, and that FBI Director Mueller considers borders irrelevant is cause for concern, especially in light of known anti-America terrorist groups operating in Canada and Mexico. It has been speculated that there are more international terrorist organizations active in Canada than anywhere else in the world. Groups such as Al Qaeda, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Armed Islamic Group (GIA) and the Egyptian Islamic Jihad group are all suspected of operating in Canada. (Source). Rep. John Culbertson of Texas has stated that Mexico is home to Al Qaeda training camps (Source), and there is evidence that both Hezbollah and Iran have a strong presence in Mexico as well. (Source). Hezbollah has even gone so far as to brag about waging war on the United States, yet for some reason, the American government seems to be ignoring this. (Source)

This Means War! (or at Least a Finger Wag and a Glare!)

Very few situations will elicit profanity from me, and even fewer news reports. Maybe I am mellowing with age. But the reports I have been reading today have brought forth a hearty “What the hell!” (and not a few raised eyebrows!) According to these news reports one Manssor “Jack” Arbasiar, a naturalized United States citizen from Iran, has been actively trying to recruit Mexican drug cartel hit men to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador with a bomb, while the ambassador was on American soil. Apparently the hit was to take place while the ambassador would be dining in a Washington, D.C. restaurant – a restaurant frequented by, among others, United States congressmen. Arbasiar dismissed those Americans who would be killed as “collateral damage” with an unemotional “f**k ‘em”. The attack was to be immediately followed by bombing attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, as well as attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Arbasiar has said that he was working in collusion with a relative of his, Gholam Shakuri, who is reportedly a high ranking member of the Iranian Quds Force, the special forces branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard responsible for coordinating and carrying out terrorist operations outside of Iran. It is also reported that Arbasiar may have been working with others in the Iranian military, or government, as well. Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal has stated that Saudi Arabia believes this report to be authentic, and stated, “The burden of proof is overwhelming…and clearly shows official Iranian responsibility for this. Somebody in Iran will have to pay the price, whatever the level of these persons is.” It should be noted that Iran is a predominately Shite Muslim country, while Saudi Arabia a predominately Sunni Muslim country. The two Islamic sects consider each other to be apostate and blasphemous, and the animosity between them strong and deeply rooted. (Source)

Contrary to the obvious threat to the United States, defense officials have said that this situation “is not a trip wire for military action in Iran,” and “no one should read into this as a pretense for any type of military response.” According to STRATFOR, a private intelligence agency, the plot seems “far-fetched.” STRATFOR’s analysis of the situation says “Iran has been known to carry out preoperational surveillance in the United States, but it has not yet used this intelligence to carry out a high-profile attack.” Pentagon officials report that they are comfortable allowing the Department of Justice handle the terrorist plot. Predictably, an Iranian representative at the U.N. has denied that anyone in Tehran has played any part in the plot. (Source)

Of particular interest (at least to me) are STRAFOR’s comments regarding Iran’s preoperational surveillance in the U.S., and that they have not yet used this the intelligence they have gathered to carry out an attack. Because of this, STRATFOR (and apparently the United States government) are of the opinion that the notion that this was an operation officially sanctioned or even implemented by the Iranian government is “far-fetched.” This sounds simply ridiculous to me. Given the fact that our southern border is about as porous as a salad colander, and that Islamic terrorists are known to be in Mexico, it makes perfect sense for Arbasiar to contact Mexican cartel members to carry out the assassination and accompanying terrorist attacks. I don’t see that this is far-fetched at all. Just because Iran hasn’t yet used their preoperational surveillance for an attack doesn’t mean they won’t. It means they haven’t yet, and I am sure they are not conducting this surveillance just for kicks and giggles.

Let’s take into account some other related facts as well. Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism, and is known to be supplying the Taliban with weapons and training to attack and kill Americans in Afghanistan as well as sending Iranian forces to Iraq to fight against Americans there.
