The United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association is fighting a New York town’s city council for the right to fly the Gadsen flag. The familiar flag with the snake and the “Don’t tread on me” slogan has been flown over the New Rochelle Armory up until now. The Flag has been used by the Navy and the Marine Corps since 1775, yet now, the veterans are being forced to take it down.
Why? Oh well because a city council member was offended. The Gadsen flag was compared to the Nazi symbol, and other vicious comments compared it to a Mickey Mouse flag, and graffiti. The city council voted 5-3 to not allow the veterans to put the flag back up.
The veterans are not going to take this lying down. They have retained legal counsel of the Thomas More law Center to try to regain the right to fly their flag. “Using the City Council’s reasoning, they would remove the Stars and Stripes from flagpoles because both Democrat and Republican Parties, as well as most political candidates, use the Stars and Stripes in their campaign messaging,” said Richard Thompson, president of the Thomas More Law Center.
OK, now the insanity of leftists has managed once again to prove that their stupidity knows no limits. First of all this is not some new symbol. As stated, this has been a symbol for the Navy and the Marine Corps since 1775. We are literally no kowtowing to liberals in such a fashion that now we remove a symbol that has been a part of the military for well over 200 years. Why? Because liberals are hyper-sensitive jerks when it comes to stuff like this. They honestly believe that their right not to see something that bothers them trumps Veterans rights to fly a flag that has been a part of their system since 1775. Literally they are so selfish, that they can’t see past their own self-righteous indignation to have some respect for the veterans of our country.
Their selfishness and all-consuming need to hide any type of pride in our country has become intolerable. I would try to shame them, but in truth you can’t shame the shameless. Its OK, they don’t need to feel shame. I already feel enough shame for them, and what they represent to hide my face in disgust.
