First let me say that I don’t believe diversity
is our strength like so many Liberals keep saying. As a matter of fact
I don’t think it should be considered at all. One of the reasons I think
America is collapsing is because of a lowering of standards, diversity now takes
preference over everything else.
Recently Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke came under fire from liberals for allegedly saying that diversity is “not important.” You see what Mr. Zinke said was that he cared about excellence, sometimes meritocracy will yield diversity; sometimes it won’t. The point is that it doesn’t matter. Diversity should not be an end in itself; excellence is the goal.
But why should anyone be concerned about that or even care, isn’t that the way things are supposed to work? That’s why they have job interviews, so they can pick the best qualified person for the job, at least that is what I always thought anyway. For too long we have been concentrating on gender and race, instead of putting in the best person for the job.
Also recently the Brooklyn Museum in New York City appointed Kristen Windmuller-Luna, 31, who has a Ph.D. in African art history from Princeton University, lectures in Columbia University’s department of art history and archaeology, and once worked as an educator for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she was “responsible for adult and college gallery tours in the African galleries.”
But the black community and Liberals are up in arms because she is white. “Kristen is the perfect choice to build upon the Brooklyn Museum’s track record as an innovator in the collection and exhibition of the arts of Africa,” said Jennifer Chi, the museum’s chief curator, in a statement. In other words, she was the best person for the job, funny how that works.
If this country does not get back to some common sense and reality how long will it be before we are a second rate country?
This is one man’s opinion.
