The Iranian Awakening: Why the World Should Pay Attention to the Most Important Uprising of Our Time

THE IRANIAN AWAKENING: Why the World Should Pay Attention to the Most Important Uprising of Our Time

For decades, Iran has been one of the most influential — and destabilizing — forces in the Middle East. Its government has funded militant groups, projected power through proxy wars, and aligned itself with global rivals of the United States. But beneath the surface, something extraordinary has been happening: a slow, painful buildup of frustration that finally erupted after the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022.

This moment is not small.

This is not a “nothing burger.”

This is a geopolitical turning point with consequences far beyond Iran’s borders.

---

🔥 1. The Spark: The Death That Shook a Nation

Mahsa Amini, a 22‑year‑old woman, died after being detained by Iran’s morality police for allegedly wearing her hijab incorrectly. Her death ignited a nationwide movement led by women, students, and young people who had lived their entire lives under the Islamic Republic.

This wasn’t a protest.

It was a national awakening.

---

🕰️ 2. Before 1979: Iran Was Not Always Like This

To understand the magnitude of today’s uprising, you have to remember what Iran once was.

Before the 1979 Islamic Revolution:

• Iran was open, modern, and culturally vibrant

• Western fashion, music, and cinema were part of everyday life

• Women wore what they wanted — miniskirts, jeans, dresses, or hijabs by choice

• Universities were co‑ed and thriving

• Nightlife, art, and tourism flourished

• Alcohol, cosmetics, and Western brands were common

• Tehran was considered one of the most progressive cities in the Middle East

• Foreigners traveled freely, and many lived and worked there

• The economy was growing, and infrastructure was expanding

• Iran was aligned with the West and seen as a rising regional power

Ask any Iranian who lived through that era, and they’ll tell you:

Iran was free, open, and full of possibility.

The revolution didn’t just change the government.

It reversed the entire cultural direction of the country.

---

⚔️ 3. After 1979: A Theocracy Built on Control

The Islamic Revolution replaced a modernizing monarchy with a strict theocratic regime. Overnight, Iran became:

• a state with mandatory hijab laws

• a society policed by religious enforcers

• a country where dissent was crushed

• a place where minorities faced new restrictions

• a nation where political opposition disappeared

• an economy increasingly isolated and mismanaged

The morality police became a symbol of the regime’s grip on daily life.

And over the decades, the pressure only grew.

---

🌋 4. The Protests Are Not Foreign‑Made — They Are Decades of Pain Exploding at Once

Foreign interference is a real part of Iran’s history.

But this moment is different.

This uprising wasn’t engineered from outside.

It was born from:

• economic collapse

• inflation and a failing currency

• corruption

• religious overreach

• generational exhaustion

• the death of a young woman who became a symbol of national humiliation

The Iranian people didn’t need a foreign push.

They reached clarity on their own.

---

✝️ 5. A Quiet Spiritual Shift: Christianity Rising Underground

While rarely discussed openly, many Iranians have grown disillusioned with the regime’s religious ideology. Underground Christian communities have quietly expanded, especially among younger generations searching for meaning, hope, and freedom.

This spiritual shift is part of the broader cultural transformation happening inside Iran.

---

🌍 6. Why This Matters for Global Stability

Iran has long been a major funder of militant groups, including Hamas. A shift in Iran’s internal ideology — away from theocratic authoritarianism and toward freedom‑seeking civil society — would have enormous implications for the region.

A freer Iran would mean:

• less funding for militant groups

• reduced regional destabilization

• more room for diplomacy

• fewer proxy conflicts

• a potential easing of tensions with the United States

Iran’s alliances with China and Russia have also shaped global power dynamics. A change in Iran’s direction could reduce friction between these major powers and the West.

This is not a small story.

This is a global recalibration in the making.

---

🕊️ 7. A Tiananmen‑Like Moment — In Spirit, Not in Politics

The comparison isn’t about predicting outcomes.

It’s about recognizing a moment when a nation’s soul refuses to stay silent.

Just as Tiananmen Square symbolized a generation demanding dignity, the Mahsa Amini movement symbolizes an Iranian generation saying:

“Enough.”

---

🌅 8. The World Should Not Look Away

Despite the courage of the protesters and the brutality of the regime’s response, global media coverage has often been muted. But the truth remains:

• This is the largest challenge to the Islamic Republic in decades

• It is driven by the people, not foreign governments

• It has the potential to reshape the Middle East

• It could alter global alliances

• It could reduce conflict and increase stability

This is not a footnote.

This is history unfolding in real time.

---

✨ Conclusion: Iran’s Awakening Is a Turning Point for the World

If Iran changes, the region changes.

If the region changes, the world changes.

The Iranian people are not asking for interference.

They are asking for dignity, freedom, and a future.

And the world should be paying attention.

7700 People Loss Jobs in the Mainstream Media in 2019

The MSM (Mainstream Media) is dying. I would never thought it would happen. I heard the conservative media outlet using that as the narrative for years, but I didn’t believe it. With a robust economy and low unemployment, I thought it was bullshit, but I was wrong, I soon realized it didn’t matter if the economy is striving. There will be pockets within a sector of the economy that would suffer because of supply and demand. With regards to the media, the over saturation of fake news flourishing in our daily lives brought about a public revolt. The job numbers in the media produce close to 8000 jobs loss in 2019.

The public has many avenues to find the news. In the age of the internet, the public are computer savvy to research what is factual and what is crap. We no longer need to get our news from the television or newspapers. We are in a digital age. For a while, the media concentrated putting their biased news on the internet; and for a while, the birth of fake news took hold. It wasn’t until recently, the public took notice.

The conservative website “The Drudge Report” was recently sold off to a biased liberal group. It didn’t taken long for the public to notice and sought out other well known conservatives websites to get the news.

While the liberal left claimed that the job lose was due to restructuring, I find that a bit of a stretch to believe. Jobs lose is due to viewers dismal support and advertising abandonment. Besides, the media is the watchdog and the voice for the Democrat party, The biased news is overwhelming. It is blatant how the media supported, ignored, lied, and praised on Obama’s lackluster and scandalous two terms in office; while lambasted Trump for stealing the election from Hillary Clinton. It is incredulous that the elite media believes the America people are that stupid. Well, the American people had enough. The American people are the voice of America and not the MSM.

7,700 people have lost their jobs so far this year in a media landslide

Jonathan Alter – Journalist, or Left-Wing Activist?

by Mark A. Cohen

Please ‘like’ From the Left to the Right’s Facebook Page

The MSM sees Mr. Alter as a journalistic genius.
The MSM sees Mr. Alter as a journalistic genius.

Jonathan Alter, a member of the mainstream media (MSM), is held in high regard by his peers and is known by some mild terms, like ‘columnist’ and ‘author.’ His latest book is called, “The Center Holds, Obama and His Enemies.” Naturally, the use of the word ‘enemies,’ implies that those evil Republicans are out to get the president. It can’t be that we disagree with Mr. Obama’s policies, oh, no. It’s not that the president won’t work with our guys, naah. Alter discussed the untouchable’s second term on CSPAN’s Washington Journal a month ago, on June 24, 2013. Many in the MSM, I recall, predicted doom and gloom for President Bush’s second term, but not here. Now it’s, “This president can only succeed if the Republicans would just go away – or change their minds.” On TV, Alter showed confidence in the president’s ability to recover from the multitude of scandals; he has plenty of time. Sure, when you have a favorable media, I suppose you can overcome adversity, especially if all the nagging problems are completely ignored.

The Center Holds, Alter’s New Book, has a rather paranoid subtitle.
The Center Holds, Alter’s New Book, has a rather paranoid subtitle.

Alter says that the IRS and NSA stories are not going to be permanent blemishes on President Obama’s record. Given the media’s bias, he may be right. Like many of his colleagues, he’s excited about the possibility that if immigration reform doesn’t pass the House, the Republicans won’t be able to get their candidate elected in 2016. He, like many on the left, perpetuates the myth that all of a sudden conservatives support immigration reform, when we have been proponents of change in this area all along. Conservatives want to secure the border first, and then address the issue, but no one in the MSM wants you to realize it. They prefer that you believe the lie instead, that people on the right hate everyone, including grandma, and love dirty air and poisoned water.

One of Alter’s Other Books - The Promise.
One of Alter’s Other Books - The Promise.

Jonathan Alter also says that the Obama campaign stealthily visited the Latino community many times (quietly, to avoid attention), in order to win the hearts and minds of those voters. According to Mr. Alter, the immigration bill is now a direct result of that outreach… If the Republicans had done the same, though, they’d have been accused of buying votes, but in this case, it’s a wonderful tactic. If you believe there’s fairness in the media, google a left-wing pundit like Mr. Alter and a conservative journalist, like Sean Hannity, and compare the wording.

Jonathan Alter, neither a reporter or a journalist, is a liberal pundit.
Jonathan Alter, neither a reporter or a journalist, is a liberal pundit.

Alter thinks he knows why the president is so silent. He said that President Obama learned that if he raised his profile too high, or come out in favor of something, the Republicans would immediately come out against it. Sort of like each time President Bush did the same, and the Democrats and the media came out against him. They called Bush ‘imperial’ for ‘hiding’ during his second term, but in this case it’s politically smart. Sure. I’ve seen that all presidents do this. There’s nothing smart or sinister about it, unless you push a political agenda.

Jonathan Alter spent 28 years at Newsweek, no wonder they love him.
Jonathan Alter spent 28 years at Newsweek, no wonder they love him.

It’s amazing how important the media moguls think President Obama’s legacy is, when they couldn’t wait for Bush to leave. While Mr. Alter says that his job is to hold politicians from both parties accountable, he only holds Republicans accountable. Democrats were not obstructionist during President Bush’s term, only Republicans are now, during President Obama’s. If Democrats had passed Bush’s Social Security reforms I’m sure Mr. Alter and the rest of the MSM would have had a fit, but if Republicans pass the Democrats’s immigration reform they are “stepping up.” This seems just a bit one-sided to me.

Alter’s an MSNBC kind of guy, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Alter’s an MSNBC kind of guy, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Mr. Alter is a liberal and a proponent of the president’s policies, but I don’t hold that against him. The media pretends that he’s a fair journalist, and that’s what I find reprehensible. He’s neither. To explain it to left-wingers, he sounds like a liberal Sean Hannity to me. I don’t say that my blog is journalism, but neither is Mr. Alter’s work. He’s as partisan as I am. He said that righties need to stop resisting Obamacare, no matter what we might think of it, and we need more investment in infrastructure. He’s right, some roads and bridges do need repair, but doesn’t that sound rather familiar?

My Post Election Blues – What America Voted For and What America Voted Against – Part III

by Mark A. Cohen

In 2012, Americans voted against: Two good men, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, with a fiscally sensible plan for saving the economy, the improvement of a disastrous health care bill, economic and business experience and competence, and a made-up term, Romnesia. Most Americans bought the president’s and mainstream media’s (MSM’s) message which mocked Mitt Romney for his money. There’s nothing wrong with being successful and investing your earnings for future generations. And, there’s nothing funny about it. You, too, would do the same if you acquired wealth.

The Democrats’ competence for getting their class warfare message out, the MSM’s left-wing bias, and Republican mistakes all beat Mitt Romney. I’ve heard it said that liberals used social media and computers while conservatives used lawn signs. Romney’s 47% comment killed his campaign as many thought this was a direct insult to them. This innocent and poorly worded comment, merely about who would not vote for him, was turned into a firestorm by David Korn and the MSM, which repeated it continually, and the gullible public bought it. No more, Republicans! When running for office, you must assume you are on camera every second. You must always think you are being secretly filmed by a leftist radical who will turn the recording over to the MSM for your imminent destruction!

Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana said recently that we must stop being the “stupid party.” Richard Mourdock and Todd Akin said things about rape and abortions which are intolerable, especially in the age of left-wing media bias. This is because their foolish comments, which didn’t belong anywhere near their campaigns in the first place, were twisted and distorted even further by the MSM. Shame on them, they should have known better! And, no one dare try to explain what they really meant - or defend them, either. The question would certainly become, “Are you actually defending Akin or Mourdock? Senator, do you really think there’s such a thing as legitimate rape? Do you think if a woman is raped it’s God’s will? Do ya? Do ya? Really?”

Every time our candidates bring up any religious or ‘different’ beliefs, the seculars attack, and they attack in droves. Candidate Christine O’Donnell was lambasted and made to look foolish for saying years prior that she “dabbled in witchcraft,” and lost her race once the MSM got a hold of the story. Our near-perfect candidates must think about what they say – all the time, every time. This formula is simple: be on the alert for MSM trap questions and turn the answers around. No stupid statements are allowed. Liberals can say outrageous things, but conservatives can’t. They can say the Tea Party is a bunch of extremist racists (with no proof whatsoever) – and get away with it each time, but Rep. Allen West of Florida is not allowed to say there are Communists in the Democratic Party. - Remember ‘the jailer’ in Star Trek’s All Our Yesterdays episode? “There are witches. There are!” He said it while looking around, full of paranoia - just in case... Even I sometimes feel a little like Galileo, who couldn’t say that the earth revolved around the sun, lest the authorities would come after him for blasphemy. This MSM’s senseless intolerance is best described by liberal commentator Andrew Sullivan’s recent statement on one of the Sunday shows, which implies that if you believe in religion over science, you are crazy, out of your mind, a loon, never to be believed due to loss of credibility! Instead, we should all be entitled to our opinions, and most Americans are not nuts.

Conservatives can’t repeat the same missteps again and we have to vet our candidates with a fine-tooth comb. We must maintain the Romney campaigns’ infrastructure and begin to run the 2014 mid-terms and the 2016 presidential campaign now. Without caving, we need to find candidates who can communicate the conservative message. Although I am all for strict adherence to our laws, this is a new reality, folks. Republicans must pivot on immigration and build the technological fence on the border first (it doesn’t need to be a real, physical fence). As Carlos Gutierrez, the 35th U.S. Secretary of Commerce said on Nov. 18, 2012, our party must set forth a sensible plan to reform America’s broken immigration system and then think about strategies for handling and welcoming new citizens. After securing the border, paving the path to citizenship for those already here is crucial. We value their contributions and recognize their importance as citizens. While welcoming new, legal immigrants, making sure that any amnesty deal is a one-time thing is also just as critical. Although conservatives don’t care about race (and liberal America does), we do need to find two competent minority candidates for president and vice president in 2016. I hereby nominate Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Saratoga Springs, Utah mayor Mia Love.

ABC News – Your Bias Is Showing!

Gingrich trends up and Romney's people knock him down, now he’s up again and ABC has decided to air an interview with his ex-wife this Friday – one day before the SC primary! How can anyone see this as anything but an attempt to affect the results of the election?

Why not just quote excerpts from the 2010 interview she gave Esquire magazine which was nothing short of scathing.

Why? Because ABC is hoping a reminder of his past indiscretions will sway South Carolina Christian Conservatives away from Gingrich to another. Don’t let the main stream media will tell you different, Romney is Obama’s preferred opponent and liberals will stop at nothing to make sure it happens! --- Read More
