Obama Comes Out to Tell the Democrat Presidential Candidates to Knock It Out

Throughout this election cycle, Obama stayed very quiet. In fact, he had stayed away from his former Vice-President campaign. You would think Obama would be on the stump for Joe Biden, but that’s not the case. However, Obama came out of the shadows to impart some common sense wisdom. Obama realize that Trump is reversing all of his accomplishments and policies; thus making the former president insignificant. To stop the bleeding, Obama wants a Democrat to win the presidency, but that’s not going to happen.

If Obama is pleading to the presidential Democrat candidate to knock it off  and take a step back, it would signify that the Democrats are in trouble. Obama says not to recreate the wheel. Instead, Obama wishes the Democrat candidates to stay in the middle. However, like the impeachment hearings, it’s too late to run to the middle. Every voter in America knows how radical the Democrat candidates want to change America to a version like Venezuela or Cuba.

Advantage Trump!

THE UNHINGED PRESIDENT

Chris Wallace and Charles Krauthammer have joined George Will as my least favored media talking heads. There are several others—like Bernie Goldberg, often seen on Bill O’Reilly’s Factor show, that belong on a growing list of people who want us to believe they are SHOCKED! – SHOCKED! - at Trump’s post-election behavior. It’s as though they believed a magic switch would be thrown and Trump would begin behaving exactly as all politicians (particularly Presidents) have done for at least the past twenty-four years. More illustrative of the Potomac intelligentsia is their pronouncement of doom upon this administration because (Gasp!) they don’t follow the accepted protocol in their handling of ANYTHING. Obviously, Trump hasn’t a clue.

Does it take more than a little hubris to assume that a man who has amassed a multi-billion dollar fortune, has managed to establish and prove up many highly successful and lucrative businesses, and has also defeated the best and brightest presidential candidates that either party could array against him—this man is somehow so stupid that he doesn’t know how to deal with obstacles, many of them manufactured, that the secularists place in his path?

A Change.org petition being circulated by mental health professionals asserts President Trump is ‘unfit to serve’! 24,000 signatures have been garnered thus far.

To the mental health professionals and those of the enlightened media who have informed us President Trump is ‘unhinged’, is it fair to ask what evidence you would cite to illustrate your point? If it is his behaviors that you deem irrational, perhaps you could provide us with a definition of ‘rational’, and tell us whether that definition is applicable to all members of the human race? For instance, is it rational for a man in his late 50s or 60s to throw a chair across the floor of a crowded gymnasium? I cannot see Dean Smith, Roy Williams, or Bill Self doing anything so rash, but a highly successful college basketball coach named Bobby Knight did exactly that—and remained a winning coach for several years thereafter! Rational behavior? If that behavior accomplishes the goal that you are seeking, perhaps it is not so irrational for you. You would not expect a Caspar Milquetoast to smash a 250-pound hulking bully in the mouth with his fist; that would be the epitome of irrational behavior. But for Arnold Schwarzenegger to take such action might be a more sensible, even ‘rational’ response to provocation.

I don’t like Donald Trump; haven’t liked him since he first announced his candidacy. He is crude, rude, and perfectly willing to destroy the reputation and career of an opponent to obtain his ends. I truly believe that Dale Carnegie, author of the book, How to Win Friends and Influence People, might well have wanted to punch him in the nose.

Anyone who expected Donald Trump to behave exactly as each—indeed, ANY—of the past Presidents has to be smoking some of that funny tobacco. Donald Trump is not George Bush. There are even fewer similarities between Trump and Barack Obama. Trump is Trump. For good or ill, he is going to do things in the ways that have proved, I think you would agree, fairly successful for him in the past. To do otherwise would be foolish, don’t you think? Why exchange the thoroughbred you have ridden to stunning victories, for the old grey mare proven time and again to be slow afoot, often finishing last?

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears the beat of a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.
--Henry David Thoreau: Walden

Some of the actions he will take during his presidency are going to be applauded by many who are looking for change in America. Some of the things he does will cause many to wince in fear and disgust. But if you are surprised that he is who he is, then you have definitely not been paying attention.

Trump was not elected to win the approval of the media and politicians. He was chosen because he promised to bring a little sanity back to politics; to do things that are in the best interests of America, for a change; to repeal and replace Obamacare, to restore some American pride, to rebuild our faltering military, to solve the immigration problems, to cut taxes and to restore jobs. Everything the immediate past president did accomplished the exact opposite of those ends. America wanted a change. It is as simple as that. Perhaps the media and politicians of both parties will be the last to comprehend that message.

Criticize him if you must. He is NEVER going to be the kinder, gentler president you want him to be. He is always going to be egocentric, thin-skinned, and tone deaf. Maddeningly so, perhaps. But as long as he is making a bonafide effort to restore American leadership, pride and a sense of moral responsibility, anyone who is a genuine conservative should stop and think before giving the secularists too much assistance in trying to destroy our President.

By the way, where are the Democrat opposite numbers of John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Marco Rubio, and Susan Collins? The only Democrat Senator to EVER oppose Obama in any way was Joe Manchin of West Virginia—and that was muted opposition to Obama’s stance on coal. Are the secularists convictions more strongly held than those of conservatives? Interesting . . .

Donald Trump and Character

Donald Trump and Character
No individual can rise above his core character—an integral part of that person’s very being and almost fully developed by the time he has reached the age of fifteen or sixteen. That combination of traits and attributes which go into the make-up of character defines a man or woman. Further, input into the development of that character which is most important is that of the individual who must carry it and live with it. The vast majority of his actions will be guided by that core character for the rest of his life. Of course, he can pretend to be a person of greater character, superior attributes—but that is a charade, and it cannot be sustained over a long period of time before he will revert to his basic self.
Donald Trump’s character is such that he needs no proof at all to conclude that Ted Cruz was the guilty party behind the publishing of a nude photo of Trump’s wife, even though the Super Pac that admits responsibility is not one that supports Cruz. Rather, it is an anti-Trump Pac called ‘Make America Awesome’. No matter. Trump knows, and he does not want to be confused by facts. Trump said, “He knew about the picture. He may have even bought the rights to the picture, (meaning his campaign). And the super PAC had it. He's very close to the super PAC. I didn't start this. He did.”
So we are to be persuaded Cruz found out about the photo of Melania, bought the rights to it, and directed ‘Make America Awesome’ to release it. In addition to being disgustingly low-brow, such an act would be illegal. One would think a Constitutional lawyer would be aware of that fact and would be loathe to risk a fine or prison term. As an article in the Washington Post reported, “We expect this from Trump by now. Trump says things, and they are wrong. People note that they are wrong, and Trump and his supporters don't care. That's the pattern.”

On the other hand, The National Enquirer, which might as well be owned by Trump (do you think he would admit it if he did own it?) prints an article accusing Cruz of not one but five marital infidelities. It is known that the owner of record of the Enquirer is an avid supporter of Donald Trump and has printed articles critical of other opponents of Trump (Dr. Carson comes to mind). Trump, however, demands he be given plausible deniability when he says he was not behind publishing of that article on Cruz, and all his loyal followers plus other haters of Ted Cruz will gladly grant him that.
Really, in terms of the damage done, at this point it doesn’t matter who was responsible for the Enquirer story--a fact of which Trump is keenly aware. There are enough people who will believe it that it is likely to sway the electorate in the next few primaries. Between that article and the unfathomable continuing campaign of John Kasich, by the time the truth is known, Trump will already be the de facto winner of the Republican nomination for the presidency. He should be congratulated. Only . . .
Everything about Donald Trump shouts that he is a self-absorbed narcissist who only wants to make Donald Trump look great. If America can be helped at the same time, well, that would be alright. He has proven time and again that he is willing to destroy campaigns, reputations careers—whatever is necessary to vanquish anyone who opposes him. It doesn’t matter whether the sometimes ridiculous accusations he makes are true. All that is important is that they denigrate, belittle, humiliate and embarrass that person towards whom his poisonous venom is directed. If you are willing to destroy the lives and/or reputations of others, why should you concern yourself with whether what you say is true or fair? The only objective is to win.
Whatever Cruz is or has done, he is correct in his assertion that Trump is a sniveling coward. Yes, Trump is a bully, but only a verbal bully as opposed to one who would enter the ring himself to take on an opponent. He hides behind someone else and claims he doesn’t want to believe what he has just accused his opponent of, but “this is out there . . . It might be true”. How many times have you heard him say that? Decorum, honesty and fairness dictate that you should not, cannot just throw out a baseless allegation unless . . .  your goal is to tar someone’s reputation and character in order to disqualify them as an opponent in order to gain something you want. Well, in the minds of many, that prize might well become less valuable once Trump has acquired it than it is now, with an Islamo-fascist as president. If Donald Trump is elected, America's trajectory is not upward towards being a better nation. It will mean enough Americans are accepting of the kind of coarseness that should shame the most tawdry of us. In any event, Trump’s methods are cowardly. They are unseemly AND unmanly.
It can be hoped that most Americans do not want a cowardly or unmanly president, but . . . will you have a choice come November?

Rich DeVos, Co-Founder of Amway Corporation, Part IV: "Nobody is Just an Anything"

Continued from Part III, posted on January, 29, 2014.

Amway Co-founders Rich DeVos and Jay VanAndel
Amway Co-founders Rich DeVos and Jay VanAndel

I tried to sell Amway products once, but because I am not an effective salesman, my efforts failed. However, while trying, I purchased some motivational tapes from the company. I didn’t like many but I loved one of them. I learned a lot from it and listened often. One of the two founders of the Amway Corporation, Rich DeVos, spoke in front of a group of about 1,800 young people at the 23rd annual Junior Achievers conference sometime in 1966. You may object to his attitude, and DeVos might not say things the same way today, but the message is “boss, man!”

Last time I ended Part III by saying that Mr. DeVos appreciated the work of the garbage men (now known as ‘sanitation workers’) who came to his house. Here’s his depiction of when he met them one morning… and more…

Rich DeVos, Part IV:

Selling America, by Rich DeVos.
Selling America, by Rich DeVos.

…I had an interesting experience because - - I like garbage men. You wouldn't believe that. Yeah, you can tell that… I’ll tell you that.

But I went out… For four weeks in a row… This fellow comes by at 6:30 in the morning… Because I wanted to meet him I said, “Hi, how are you this morning? I just came out to tell you I appreciate your coming…”

He looked at me and he said, “Are you just getting up, or are you just coming in?” (laughter) He wasn’t sure…

I said, “No, no, really – I just came out to say, ‘hello.’” I said, “I appreciate your coming by."

[To the kids in the audience] Now, if you don’t think you appreciate his coming by (your home) you just let him skip you a couple times. (laughter) You’ll find out how important he is in your life. (laughter)

 Inspirational quote, by Rich DeVos.
Inspirational quote, by Rich DeVos.

You know about the fourth time I went out there I said, “I'm just coming out to say hello again. I really mean it. I appreciate your coming. Do you realize how important the work is that you do? What it does for the sanitation of this community? How it protects the health and well-being of all the people?

And he says, “Well, I’ll be damned!” (laughter, then applause)

[To the kids in the audience] Now, I don’t like to use that language, but I portray to you his attitude. He said, “I’ve been picking up garbage for years, man. Nobody ever told me that!” (mild laughter)

And, I’d say to you, “Isn’t it too bad that a fellow American, who’s doing what he’s able to do has had no one tell him how important his work is?

 Rich DeVos, a winner’s smile.
Rich DeVos, a winner’s smile.

He [the man picking up garbage] says [to Rich DeVos], you know, “You’re one in a million.” (To the audience:) Well, I don’t want to be one in a million, and I ask you as you go on to positions of leadership to join me in a crusade of respectability for all your fellow Americans. And I hope you go on to college and get a Ph.D. or whatever it is you’re seeking. But I hope you'll always remember that it doesn’t make you better than the next guy. – It gives you greater responsibility.

I marvel at the Ph.D. who works for us, and he’s a wonderful man. I look at the chemist we have and I notice how helpless they are when it comes to emptying the wastebasket.

And then I look at the people who come to work and [they] work on the line and I look at the school bus driver. Well [some people say], “he’s just a bus driver.” And the other people say, “Well, he’s just a businessman.” “He’s just a salesman.” Will we eradicate the word ‘just’ from your vocabulary? Nobody is just an anything! He’s a man or a woman doing what he knows how to do best. That’s the real sign.

Dare to Battle - Rich DeVos.
Dare to Battle - Rich DeVos.

So, if a guy fixes your car, remember to greet him. Remember to thank him. And if all of us will begin to do this, we can change America. We can break down the barriers between, (in a sarcastic tone:) “I’m better than you.” There’s too much of it! So, let’s join me in the crusade. Let’s remember that the little things [we do and say] make a difference.

This is the end of Part IV

Rich DeVos
Rich DeVos

Many years ago my wife and I struggled to make ends meet. I thought that selling Amway products would work for us, and persuaded her to try it. While others succeeded at it, we failed miserably; we had trouble convincing others to buy. I don’t blame Amway, we simply didn’t possess the required skills. During our Amway experiment, we purchased several cassette tapes from the company at the suggestion of our sponsor. Most of them bored me, but a single tape stood out. I listened to it often and I’ve quoted it many times. One of the two founders of the Amway Corporation, Rich DeVos, spoke in front of a group of about 1,800 young people at the 23rd annual Junior Achievers conference. I believe this occurred sometime in 1966. His use of words may seem outdated, and DeVos might not express himself the same way today, but the message is “right on!”

Rich DeVos, Part III:

I gave a talk one day in a high school and I talked about smoking, you know. I’d made some comments about the fact that it’s an interesting thing that when you’re your age [young, like his audience], it’s real [inaudible] stuff [he means it’s cool] to smoke. And when you’re my age you’re a big shot if you can quit. Now, that’s an interesting thing. But I made some implications that I didn’t approve of smoking –

Co-founder Jay Van Andel, Steve Van Andel, current president Doug DeVos, and co-founder Rich DeVos
Co-founder Jay Van Andel, Steve Van Andel, current president Doug DeVos, and co-founder Rich DeVos

One young gal comes up to me afterward and she says, “I’ll have you know, I smoke.

I says, “You’re kidding.” She was a high schooler.

She says, “No, I do.” I said, “I don’t believe you.”

She said, “Really, I smoke.”

“Nawww,” I said. (laughter) “You don’t smoke, honey, the cigarette smokes, you’re just the sucker! Ya gotta remember that. (loud laughter, and applause)

I mentioned the fact that you’re the leader, you’re the comer, you’re the go-er, you’re the achiever. And as such, others will follow you.

DeVos and Van Andel with TV icon Walter Cronkite in 1986
DeVos and Van Andel with TV icon Walter Cronkite in 1986

But as you progress, and as you assume your roles of leadership, and as you excel, I want you to remember something. That one of the greatest problems we’ve got in America today outside the racial strife that’s going on [remember, this was during the 1960’s] and we all deplore – is the equal respect for each other.

One of the things any minority group is seeking is just respect me for what I am. Don’t give me any favors. I’m not asking for that. Most of them aren’t asking for that. They’re just asking for equal respect and equal opportunity. And, it’s all of us that are going to change that. That won’t happen by accident.

But you see, I see it happening between groups of people. Between classes of people as well as groups – and racial groups.

I’d give this guy the microphone, anytime.
I’d give this guy the microphone, anytime.

And, so, the man says, “Well, I went to college.” Well, that’s alright, I hope you all go to college. I hope you all graduate. But you know about half the kids coming out of school aren’t going to go to college.

And, although you may have a greater responsibility because you have greater talent… As a man or a woman you’re not necessarily better than the ones who didn’t. I want you to remember that.

I want you to remember that, the next time that fellow comes by who picks up the garbage at your house. He’s a fellow American who’s using his talent to do what he can do. But he, too, is a part of the great mainstream of American life.

This is the end of Part III, and I’ll cover the amazing conversation he had with his garbage man in Part IV, next time.

President Obama Didn’t Know – Really? (Part II)

by Mark A. Cohen

Please ‘like’ From the Left to the Right’s Facebook Page.

I suggest some patterns I noticed of late, in this post, and in the previous post, Part I.

6. Gen. Petraeus scandal: President Obama implied to Chuck Todd (NBC News) of the David Petraeus / Paula Broadwell affair/scandal that his administration had “not been told,” coincidentally, until two days after the 2012 election! Who knew? Not the president.

I had no idea...
I had no idea...

7. Benghazi Scandal 1: Four Americans died in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012 (the anniversary of 9/11), after Ambassador Stevens requested help from the U.S. The Obama Administration didn’t increase security for the diplomatic mission ahead of time, even though the Muslim Brotherhood was on the rise there. All the president’s men and women blamed the attack on an outrageous video. They apparently don’t know a terrorist attack when they see one – or did they cover it up? No one at the White House still appears eager to investigate. “What difference, at this point, does it make?” said his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, when she testified before Congress. Hmmm.

Despite President Obama’s claim that he won’t rest until we find out what happened, his administration seemed to say, ’Who cares?’
Despite President Obama’s claim that he won’t rest until we find out what happened, his administration seemed to say, ’Who cares?’

8. Benghazi Scandal 2: President Obama campaigned on the slogans, “Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive,” and “Al Qaeda is on the run.” So, the Obama Administration sent U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on the Sunday TV news shows less than 2 weeks before the 2012 presidential election. One must question their motivation. Why did President Obama send Ms. Rice out there? After campaigning on “Mission Accomplished” for squelching Al Qaeda and terrorism, the administration had to sell the fact that the mission in Benghazi was attacked due to Libyan reaction to an offensive video. They needed to deny the terrorism. Later, the president said that Susan Rice had nothing to do with Benghazi. So, using my left-wing teaching to question everything and speak truth to power, I must then ask, “Why did President Obama put her out there in the first place?”

Why did Susan Rice repeat the same, incorrect story on all 5 shows?
Why did Susan Rice repeat the same, incorrect story on all 5 shows?

With Secretary of State Hillary Clinton along side, the president said over a year ago, “make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.” To date, no one has been prosecuted, arrested, or even accused. If you say that these things take time, then give President Bush the same courtesy, since those pesky WMD’s, hidden by Saddam Hussein, can still turn up. (These things, too, take time, right?) By the way, Susan Rice turned out to be wrong, but was rewarded by the president anyway, when he appointed her to National Security Advisor during his second term.

Yes, why?
Yes, why?

9. Obamacare failure 2: Millions of us already lost our doctors and our health care policies, even if we liked them. Costs are increasing for people in most states. Yet, President Obama claimed (many times, repeatedly), that his law will save the average family of four thousands of dollars. He said, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. PERIOD.” And, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan. PERIOD.” No disclaimer. …To be clear, when you say, “period,” you mean what you said is final, the truth, intractable. The president apparently didn’t know that people would be forced to give up their perfectly good and well-liked policies in favor of much more expensive ones. How did he not know? This is his signature law!

Even CNN knows.
Even CNN knows.

10. Surveillance: Showing anger over President Bush’s surveillance policies, Sen. Barack Obama sarcastically accused the former president of spying on American citizens. To the dismay of the left, the Obama Administration collects many more times the data than the Bush Administration, and is building a mammoth facility in Utah to store even more. Everything will be collected, except phone records, which were recently declared illegal by a judge. (I am not against collecting data, BTW, if it is not used in nefarious ways, but how we prevent it is debatable.) Does President Obama know anything about this? Well, if not, I’m sure he’ll find out about it one day while watching TV.

President Obama’s Utah Data Center - I’ll bet you could store some data there!
President Obama’s Utah Data Center - I’ll bet you could store some data there!

President Obama says he takes full responsibility for everything, and will get to the bottom of all the scandals, but he never does anything about them. No conclusion is ever reached, one ever gets fired, nobody is ever held accountable, and our president never seems to know much of what’s going on around him. He delegates most of the work, but, boy, as the left complained about President Bush, he sure plays a lot of golf!

President Obama Didn’t Know – Really? (Part I)

by Mark A. Cohen

Please ‘like’ From the Left to the Right’s Facebook Page

I give any president the privilege to perform diplomacy with foreign leaders (fib a little), and obfuscate (hide things in the name of national security), but President Obama appears to delegate - and then walks away, disengaged. Many of his supporters are angry that he has not done more. I maintain we’d be in a lot more trouble if he could manage effectively. He’s a great orator, yes. But like my father, who purposefully had no conservative friends, he doesn’t possess the skills to coerce, cajole, convince, or socialize with Republicans. President Obama stays in the dark, and it seems he likes it that way. During this administration, he (the most powerful man in the world) and his staff told us many times that he learns about current affairs not by being briefed by officials, but while watching TV. Even for the most ardent supporter, this must be hard to believe. (Even the Washingon Post is getting suspicious!) They have a set of photos outlining some of what he said he didn’t know.

 Hey, we won.
Hey, we won.

1. Obamacare failure 1: The president stood by the wayside from beginning to end while his signature Obamacare health-care law crashed and burned. Leaving it to Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Harry Reid to architect and twist arms for the “we won’t know what’s in it until we pass it” bill, he played golf, campaigned, and hob-knobbed with the rich and famous. No one informed President Obama of healthcare.gov’s problems until after its launch on Oct. 1, 2013, or so they claimed. He described the ease of use of healthcare.gov as being like buying “a plane ticket on Kayak,” or the “same way you shop for a TV on Amazon.” But the site crashed for weeks, instead. He appeared shocked that the government, for three years, had spent half a billion dollars on a website which didn’t work. I was surprised, too, but I am not in charge – he is.

Only 365,000 signed up so far, but how many have enrolled? Fewer, obviously.
Only 365,000 signed up so far, but how many have enrolled? Fewer, obviously.

2. Spying on our friends: When Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany feigned outrage over the fact that the U.S. was spying on her by tapping her cell phone (for the previous five years), the White House said President Obama had no idea this was happening. I support this tactic, and it is a bi-partisan one, by the way. I fully expect our allies to spy on us and any current administration to do the same, but how did the president not know? He needed to perform a delicate tap dance on this, and he did, but it fits the pattern.

Your country spied on me. No, I had no idea…
Your country spied on me. No, I had no idea…

3. IRS Scandal: The IRS spied on Tea Party group activities (‘spying’ isn’t right, but there’s nothing wrong with being aware of your opponents). They also discriminated against Tea Party groups by not allowing a majority of those to receive their applied-for 501c4’s (plenty wrong with that, in fact, that’s illegal). President Obama was either kept from this knowledge, or knew and denied it. He claimed that he first learned about this IRS tactic, “on Friday, when I was watching the news.” He then appeared outraged. “If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that’s outrageous. And there’s no place for it,” the president said. A year later he dismissed the IRS scandal as false outrage. Which is it?

I did nothing wrong. It was just a couple of rogue agents in Cincinnati…
I did nothing wrong. It was just a couple of rogue agents in Cincinnati…

4. Spying on the Media: The White House insisted it knew nothing of the fact that the Justice Department seized Associated Press reporters’ phone records, including those of James Rosen, of FOX News. Either the Obama administration has a private and consistent policy of meanness / underhandedness toward the opposition, or President Obama can’t control his own people. One of the two must be true, but which?

’A press that is free to investigate and criticize the government is absolutely essential in a nation that practices self-government…’ Thomas Jefferson.
’A press that is free to investigate and criticize the government is absolutely essential in a nation that practices self-government…’ Thomas Jefferson.

5. Fast and Furious: The Justice Department’s famous “Fast and Furious” scandal (Eric Holder’s people ran guns to Mexico and didn’t track them) was unknown to the Obama Administration. “…the president did not know about this tactic until he heard about it through the media,” his spokesman, Jay Carney said. Sure, Jay. Sure, Jay. I'm beginning to see a pattern...

Many Hispanics and at least one American died, but President Obama and AG Eric Holder didn’t know this was their own policy. Kind of hard to believe.

COMBATING THE SOCIALIST’S MARCH ON AMERICA

My two cents (if it is worth that much in an Obama economy) for victory over the Republican party opposition is as follows. I’ll preface my comments by saying I do not purport to be another Lee Atwater, Mike Murphy, Karl Rove or James Carville when it comes to political strategy. I, however, like many who are actively engaged in the political process, have strong opinions on what I believe works and what doesn’t work as far as successfully promoting Republican and conservative candidates into elected office.

I’ll begin by saying that in America today there is no longer a Democratic party. That party has been expunged for well over two decades. There are no longer any Harry Truman’s, Adlai Stevenson’s, JFKs, RFKs, Eugene McCarthy’s, Scoop Jacksons or Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s governing or legislating within the Republican’s opposing party. They are long gone.  The six-time presidential candidate of the Socialist party Norman Thomas is quoted as saying in 1944,
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.”

Mr. Thomas was prescient. The party that Republican’s oppose today, and for some time now is the Socialist party. That is clear, plain and simple. JFK’s party of fiscal conservatism, union crime-busting and identifying and opposing enemies to America has been removed and replaced with a political party that has no interest whatsoever in those concerns nor in fact with America’s system of government. The socialist’s have no respect for the tenets of our Declaration or regard for the canons of our Constitution. They eschew any reference to natural law or natural rights that are identified within our Declaration and view America’s cause of order, justice and freedom only from a moral relativistic perspective. The Socialist party determines what America’s “cause” is based on what side of the bed they awake in the morning in order to consolidate their power.

Along with the above characteristics of the Socialist party there is a fundamental common denominator that can be ascribed to virtually every one of them, and that is they are predominantly agnostics or atheists. I challenge anyone to conduct an informal survey on a group of socialist’s (or progressives as they like to spin) and I’ll bet dollars to donuts that most of them will either admit to being atheists or agnostics, or at best will hedge on any adherence to a Judeo-Christian philosophy. Without this characteristic the socialist cannot have the guiltless freedom to employ their brand of moral relativism across all socio and economic fronts. And of course America is founded on Judeo-Christian principles; that is not an opinion my friends, but an irrefutable fact. Ergo by renouncing those principles they grant themselves the freedom to employ their moral relativism as a tool to advance their amoral social agendas and to turn on it’s head one of America’s core principles, that being government is limited and it’s sole purpose is to protect our natural rights, not manufactured rights. Atheism, agnosticism or, at a minimum, severely compromised Judeo-Christian principles are absolutely necessary in order to animate the socialist ideology. Everything  “comes and goes” from it.

Of course none of what I just mentioned is new to any of us. In fact Orestes Brownson was warning about how socialism is infecting America in his book The American Republicwhich was published in 1865. Brownson wrote in his text the following, “The tendency of the last century was to individualism; that of the present is to socialism”. Brownson crafted that language 150 years ago. The socialists have been creeping around the baseboards of America like so many roaches for quite some time, and their policies have been seeping into America’s socio, political and economic fabric causing destruction and waste at every turn. It is now that they are front and center, have selected their leader and are bold, brazen and on the attack to turn America out.

Proof for the above is self-evident in the policies, rhetoric and history of the current President and the public policies brought forth by his Socialist party. When the leader of the Socialist party says, “America is not just a Christian nation…” his implication is that one of the underpinnings of America’s founding, a Judeo-Christian ethos, is not necessarily relevant any longer. A preconceived comment such as that is simply one of many evidences that the Socialist party has an anti-American mindset and will take any steps necessary to undermine America’s cause.

Along with many other comments and his actions, the following comment in 2001 by Barack Obama clearly capsulizes how the Socialist party finds our Constitution to be nothing more than a grand annoyance.

The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society… [The Supreme Court] didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. [It] says what the states can’t do to you. [It] says what the federal government can’t do to you, but [it] doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.”

The Socialist leadership was careful to select someone like Obama as his or her flag bearer. Why? Because Obama has no affection, regard, respect or admiration for America and it’s proud heritage.  Obama’s caretakers indoctrinated him as a child to have disdain and derision for everything America represents. Also, he doesn’t understand America. That is key. Without an understanding or appreciation for America Obama is an empty vessel. He is free of any guilt in his quest to “transform” America into his neo-communist, collectivist world vision wherein America is simply a bundle of resources to be redistributed around the world, with a central world government to dictate the division of said resources. Not unlike the socialist atheistic/agnostic who must free him or her from any principles or standards of virtue in order to practice their moral relativism, they must also free themselves of any knowledge, understanding or appreciation of America and it’s rich heritage in order to undertake their mission to dismantle America and redistribute it’s resources across the world based on their “omnipotence”.

There are reasons the socialists prefer to refer to themselves as “progressives” and not socialists. They certainly are clever with their wordsmithing to hide the results of their hideous and failed ideology. Take for example the name change from “Global Warming” to “Climate Change” after the global warming fraudulent science was uncovered. One reason they prefer the word “progressive” is because the word “socialist” still smacks of oppression; the other is that “progressive” implies progress to a man-made secularist utopia that THEY will divine, which historically always leads to a terrestrial hell on earth. And, of course, by referring to themselves as “progressives” requires a refutation of history; a history that documents how socialism, communism, or any form of collectivism is an utter economic failure and was an ideology employed by tyrants in a totalitarian society. Additionally Obama’s Socialist party’s political slogan “Forward” was a slogan utilized by both Stalin and Hitler. From this point on any Socialist party presidential or lower level candidate will be cut from the same cloth as Obama. It is a requirement in order to further their agenda for America and the world.

This is the goal of central planning socialism. A microcosm of its effects is most evident by the ObamaCare debacle. Caught with their socialist pants down ObamaCare is the poster child for a central planning disaster. While the socialist party has scrambled to regroup what are their talking points to cover up their centrally planned disaster? That THEY know what health care plan is best for YOU. Ah hah, socialism’s tyranny uncovered. They had nowhere else to go but show their true colors. The “unwashed” will be cleansed by the “washed” socialist central planners all-knowing hands.

Why? Why do the Socialist’s do what they do? In a word-POWER. Their overarching goal is to consolidate power over the populous’ lives. Why? Because they are godless; they truly believe that they know what is best for humankind and there is no God. There is no transcendent higher power higher than them that should direct our lives. And the socialist will work tirelessly to eliminate every intermediary relationship to maintain and achieve their power, whether it be eradicate the family unit, local community associations, Church affiliations or any other associations, guilds or relationships that are barriers between the individual and their central planning socialist regime.

For sure the socialist will attempt to mask their insidious agenda by pulling on the heart strings of the populace by how they care about the “poor”, the “disadvantaged”, “woman's rights”, “blacks”, “Hispanics or minorities in general”, “self-serving versions of social justice”, “health-care for all”, the “environment” or any other so-called causes to manipulate the electorate. They will attempt to couch themselves as the party that “cares” about gun violence and income inequality. They will constantly market themselves as the party of “nice”, while branding Republicans, Conservatives or Tea Party folk as the party of “mean”. But in reality the Socialist party doesn’t give a damn about any of these people, issues or causes. They will use them simply as tools to divide society, gain and consolidate power and then wield their power as they see fit without any consideration for the useful idiots they used to advance their march to power.

So what does the conservative movement do with all of this? How do we convince the “uninformed”, “indoctrinated”, or “low information voter” to see the truth behind the Socialist party’s nefarious agenda and the truth about conservatism? How do we get them to go behind the “curtain of Oz” and see the reality? Simple. We do to the socialist’s what they have done to us. I humbly submit my four-part strategic plan for victory and truth to save America.

First: conservatives must brand the opposition for what they are. They are to no longer be referred to as democrats; they are to be referred to as socialists at all times. There are some brilliant conservative commentators who I greatly admire that disagree with me on this point, namely Charles Krauthammer and Michael Medved.  They feel it is ill advised to classify the democrats as socialists because it can cause confusion and unnecessary debate. But that is the point. The point to put the socialist’s on the defensive to defend this unseemly moniker. A moniker that does strike fear into the heart of the independent or low information voter who loves America and believes in its Judeo-Christian foundations. It is also a label that happens to be true, is easy to apply, and also ties them up in a knot and wraps them around an axel with having to fend off this label of tyranny.

Second: A thorough understanding of the Socialist’s bible, which is Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Alinsky’s book is a step-by-step, paint-by-the-numbers tactical schematic for messaging and organizing by applying methods of chaos, diversion, lies, branding and polarization. Obama actually taught these tactics in Chicago. It is one of the few actual jobs he ever had, and is ashamed to admit along with most of his past. This book is required reading and it’s tactics should be used by the Republican party and conservatives of all brands to use against the socialists. My advice on this point is best summed up by the following quote,

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Third: Be proactive and constantly put the socialists on the defensive. Keep them preoccupied with defending and explaining their insidious agendas. We’ve seen this work with ObamaCare, but that was simply a by-product of the horrid legislation, and that is all well and good. But to those who say, “See, they will eventually implode”, I respond by saying “but while we’re waiting for them to implode they are inhabiting office doing their damage. By that point it is too late to undo their harm”. We must be proactive in putting them on the defensive using their hateful, dangerous, anti-American polices against them.  They twist the truth about conservatives and use it against us to great success. I simply suggest using the actual truth about the socialist's to even greater success.

Fourth: Outreach, outreach and more outreach. Republicans and conservatives have for far too long lived in a little cocoon of frightened superiority. To a greater or lesser degree our attitude has always been “if you’re not smart, sophisticated, enlightened, educated, patriotic and moral enough to get us and come join us, then we’re not going to try and enlist you into our fold”. We have also permitted the socialists to make us uncomfortable with ourselves because of their proactive branding against us based on lies. Because of that we have crawled into a veritable fetal position sucking our conservative thumbs fearful of talking to anyone outside of our little comfort zones.  That must end. It must end for the sake of the future of the conservative philosophy that built America, and for the sake of America itself. We must reach out to each and every person, group, association or demographic that we feel is solidly against us and embrace them. We must invite them to our meetings, ask to be invited to their meetings, and share with them the truth about what we stand for and what the socialists stand for. Again, branding the opposition and ourselves, and in the process expanding our base. This strategy was the key to Governor Chris Christie’s 2013 gubernatorial re-election in one of the bluest of states, New Jersey.

How do we win? By taking the offensive. By growing our base. By thinking differently. By taking ownership of and defining our message. By branding the opposition before they can even think about branding us. By being bold and proud and confident and courageous in our fight to save America from the grips of socialism.

We must be tough as nails. Why? Because they are. The Socialist party’s thug tactics win elections and elections have consequences. And in the case of their victories that consequence is, as Churchill said about socialism, is a collective misery. You don’t fight a person using Marquess of Queensberry rules when they are bringing knives, axes and baseball bats to the fight.

We must never apologize for who we are nor give the socialists any quarter whatsoever.  This is a battle for America’s salvation. We have met the enemy and, unfortunately, they are us.
